@RickiTarr Funny story, I was playing Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five's "The Message" on a Critical Mass one year (early 2000s). Dude rides up next to me and asks if it's MC Hammer. I said, no. He said it was weird because it was taking about positive things, and I told him that's what hip hop used to be before gangsta became dominant. So many people hear one thing and thing it's the only version.

@nixCraft My whole home audio system still uses the Squeezebox/Slimserver system (with both hardware and a server).

Although one might argue my propensity to listen to baseball on an AM radio also qualifies.

Well duh of course it is for most apps. k8s is not for you. I'm sorry if you have done this to yourself but it is your own fault. You should have known this from the back of the napkin you did.

The ones that do are multi-billion dollar companies, operating at massive scale with very hard problems that you do not have. And very deep pockets.

You can still use some of it. When it makes sense. It's a tech miracle.

@nf3xn Definitely. That + horizontal scaling, which 90% of the use cases don't really need. It's a "nice to have" at best. But to your point, the infrastructure complexity isn't worth the juice.

Boilerplate code is not a thing. Most "boilerplate" code is already covered in a library or package, and it should be used there. Otherwise, there are situational edge cases to be covered.

And unit test code is not boilerplate either. The point of unit tests aren't just to verify, but to explain problems when a failure happens. Unit tests without this are test theater.

AI coding without severe coaxing cannot do this.
