does anyone know a technological solution to "hands are too shakey for SMD soldering"? I am thinking of some sort of device you can place your hand on that dampens the tremors
(please RT, would really love for my gf to be able to solder fine pitch SMD stuff)
Yes the constant meta (and Meta) discussion here is tedious, and often much worse, but what you have to realize is that this isn’t just a social network, it’s a left/progressive political project. I don’t know how many left/progressive political orgs you’ve been involved in, but let me tell you, they are kind of known for endless, agonizing talk about process, factions, outside threats, inside threats, strategy, grievances, etc. And if you have a solution for that, you just might save the world.
The future of microblogging social media: everyone posting on their preferred platform to complain about some other new entrant into the microblogging social media market that people are buzzing about and which people who are comfortable with their existing choice don't want to bother with.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, posted a message on #Threads explaining why Meta is committed to adding #ActivityPub support. The reason he lists is the ability to take your social graph to another server.
I'm trying to extract the python scripts that make the mtb 3D terrain so it's on my computer and I can just tweak/run it locally (vs. some notebook, drive, collab stuff).
Seems like everything is almost going, except “import gdal" fails, a gis lib. I try to install and find people suggest installing other package managers like miniconda, aniconda. Down that rathole I go, trying to get them to install/run, not much luck. Another site shows using brew to install, which I have and it works. Except, still gdal isn't found. Someone else says to then run “pip3 install gdal” which barfs halfway through with a bunch of errors like: use of undeclared identifier 'GDALVectorInfoOptionsNew';
@jerzone are you using python virtualenv?
.
Try removing both numpy and gdal.
install wheel so you get precompiled python modules when supported
After that install gdal[numpy]==N.NN.NN to let gdal pull in numpy.
I am once again encouraging #Fediverse#admins to add a clause to prohibit using their server’s data for machine training into their Terms of Use, because at some point in the near future there is likely going to be a lawsuit against some major company for scraping and exploiting users’ data, and we should make sure we have a legal leg to stand on.
OK, poll time. All of these features are in the #Mastodon road map at https://joinmastodon.org/roadmap. Which would you like to see implemented first (with proper privacy guards, of course)? Please boost for more numbers.
@dgoldsmith since there been talks about rate limit, how about the ability for instances to advertise their vacancies, "we have two empty rooms for new users", and make it easier for them to move between instances and eternal redirects.
"That instance's local users discuss art, I want to move there"
I know for a lot of you this is a temporary migration, and you'll head back once they fix the problems.
But before you go back to twitter, take this thought with you: the owners of twitter don't just push their agendas at you. You already know that, and probably think it doesn't affect you. But what you don't see is how much stuff is gone there now. You don't see who's gone, or what views aren't there anymore
