It's not that we're so different from other girls, or boys for that matter. We've had our brains so infiltrated by gender stereotypes and ideals from such a young age, that by the time we get old enough to realize we are unique humans with our own distinctive character, we feel like we need to shout this from the rooftops. Every person is unique, no matter the gender, some just get more of a chance to exercise the right of individualism than others.

Don't get me started on regular men and the pressure they face getting rid of stereotypes.

I am at this for about ten years trying to unlearn bullshit I never wanted.

I truly don't want to take away from what women are suffering at the hands of men, but I sometimes want to change dudes and yell at them why they don't realize how this hurts them.

Then I remember that shaking people and yelling at them is one of the things to unlearn.

Yes, (white, straight) dudes have all the privilege and chances in this system, but once you want "out" they really don't make it easy on us too.

    Verwunderlich. Das deckt sich tatsächlich überhaupt nicht mit meiner persönlichen Erfahrung.

    Mich hat der "nette Buchladen um die Ecke"mal weggeschickt, weil die Verkäuferin fand, dass man Bücher nur auf Deutsch liest, sie die Titel nicht in den PC gehämmert bekommt und das abtippen der von mir vorbereiteten ISBN-Nummern ihr zuviel war.

    Ich bestelle immer noch nicht auf Amazon, aber der Einzelhandel hat seit dem jegliche Sympathien bei mir verloren.

    Whenever I run into any sort of gender debate in the wild, I recognise the trend that defenders of 'manliness' usually either have no real clue what makes a man, or they put up 'rules' that are totally arbitrary and often they don't fulfil those themselves.

    Guys, wouldn't the following three steps make everything easier?

    1.) Acknowledge that there are no rules about what makes a man.

    2.) Abandon all the stupid notions and just try to be a better human.

    A 'leftist' at a literal party meeting of "Die Linke" who argued we shouldn't be present at strikes or union work because that is 'communist bullshit' and 'disrupts the economy'.

    Look, these party meetings, generally speaking, have a very pluralistic atmosphere and loads of discussions. And honestly, a percentage of these discussions is pointless.

    But the absolute resounding silence that guy earned was the loudest form of unity I have experienced in the party.

    Ms Swift steht halt für diesen ätzenden "girlboss feminism" bei dem es letztlich nur darum geht, dass Frauen nach den gleichen Statussymbolen wie Männer streben und dabei über Leichen gehen.

    @RickiTarr I was the kid that had their whole peer/friend group off school. I wasn't bullied directly, I was ignored. Which, honestly, sometimes hurt more.
