@RickiTarr Poor people simply have more positive experiences with sharing. They are more likely to have experienced the thankfulness on the receiving end and therefore try to replicate and "repay" with their small means.
@RickiTarr I am currently thinking about this a lot because I am job hunting and have declared all of Germany 'fair game' (apart from Bavaria...I think). A part of me still feels young and wants all the attractions a big city holds. Another part of me has calmed down a lot and just doesn't need all that loudness and fast paced stuff. But when I go somewhere rural, I can stomach it for three or four days before I get antsy.
By the way, two main reasons I am against quote posting on here:
Well, dunking and piling on
"Takei-ing" where a celebrity or their social media team quotes some actual good content, only adds "This!" or a catch phrase ("Oh my!") to the post and then reaps likes and boosts the original creator deserves.
This was a fun one, so let's do it again. What is something you've learned that seems unlikely, even though you know it's true? Here's one I think about a lot:
Sight, while being something something many people are born with, is not an innate ability, but something we learn to do. People who were born blind or were blind for a long time, who get sight, have to learn to see.
@RickiTarr It is possible that the oldest university dealing with the English language and culture as subject was started at a Swedish university that is now German.
In basketball an "energy player" is typically a guy who comes off the bench and is not as skilled or as innately talented as the star players but has a real zeal for the game and I'm kind of like that but without the energy.
Logistically. Meeting mom when she is in town anyway is a 15 minutes subway ride as opposed to taking the train. (door to door 1,5h)
Mentally. I have a complicated opinion about the place I grew up in (semi-rural backwater), but most importantly: My mother is the only family I still care about. The rest are close-minded, fascist racist yockels who are afraid of the modern world. Being "home" is absolutely stressful to me because it is always expected of me to keep my mouth shut and keep the 'family peace' while them attacking my values is "opinions".
You can try to distract me with a woman wearing a shirt with a boob cutout and not one but TWO bucket hats, but your shoes will always be ugly, skechers.
