@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

It took them a very long time, but Limited Run finally got both the regular Game Boy as well as the newly done Game Boy Color version of Trip World to me.

Review for Pengo on game Gear.
Sega Force 4 - April 1992 (UK)

I have to add that I feel they are being a bit too harsh on Pengo here.
Although I understand since the game was a decade old by the time it released on Game Gear.

I loved it in the arcade and it was actually my first GG game. 😊
I love the game so much that I have the Japanese MD, Xbox 360 and Switch versions as well.

And I just have to repeat myself, but I'm in awe of all the incredible artwork in this magazine series.
Just look at that gorgeous Splatterhouse piece right here!

I have a hard time wrapping my head around how the artist was able to create so many pieces each and every month for Sega Force as well as N-Force!

Oliver Frey was truly in a class of his own!

Saw it yesterday on the spur of the moment for the first time, without knowing anything about the story or the length of the film (a very important detail!)

A pure moment of happiness 😍

Without knowing anything about this and just going by the characters on the covers, I went "wait a minute! That looks way too close to One Cut of the Dead!".
Then I looked it up and it's a remake. 😅

If you haven't seen the original, I highly recommend it.
Although its impact might be diminished if you saw this one already.

I'm so sick and tired of the western politicians "concern" about escalation and hiding behind that so they don't need to do what has to be done.
How many innocent people need to die before we finally say: enough is enough and put those Russian monsters in their place? Because that is what they are. Pure monsters.

Some great deals on Playstation:

Demons Tilt on PSN is 50% off, so just over €10.
https://store.playstation.com/nl-be/product/EP0263-CUSA25404_00-2332215554797974

Even if you don't like real pinball, but have enjoyed games such as Devil Crush on MegaDrive in the past, this is a must have. I've bought it 5 times now. 😅

Castlevania Rondo of Blood + Symphony of the Night is just €4 on PSN:
https://store.playstation.com/nl-be/product/EP0101-CUSA13590_00-CASTLEVANIA00001

And Void Terrarium++ on PS5 is €23 on Amazon France:

That's the game my current avatar is based on. 😊

I actually did beat Castlevania 1 and Simon’s Quest back in the day.
Not sure if I still could do that.
Bought that collection not too long ago on PS4 as it was on sale.
Right now the Advance collection is half price and Castlevania Requiem set with Rondo and SotN is just €4. Which is a ridiculous price for two of the best games ever.

I lost interest in most sports games over the years, despite playing tons of Basketball and Hockey games back in the 90's.

But somehow Golf has remained one of my favourite games, despite never even wanting to watch a real match. 😅

The original Everybody's Golf is by Camelot, the makers of the Shining Series for Sega and did indeed move on to Mario Golf and Tennis:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camelot_Software_Planning

From the second game onward, the series was developed by Clap Hanz.

I really love finding these kinds of articles, especially when they included interviews and such.
So much info gets lost over time as physical magazines just disappear.

I'm slowly finishing issue 79, which is another incredible issue.
It has a 5 page tips section with beautiful MGS artwork as well as a 6 page review for it as well.

The mid to late 90's were something incredibly special.

Sorry if I’m quiet for a bit. Last night I started getting pain again in my side.
Got worse and worse and I wasn’t able to sleep at all till 7am.
Kindney stones again. Time pieces probably but the pain is just as bad.
Slept most of the day and now the pain is starting again, so tonight will be hell again. Not to mention the nausea.

OutofPrintArchive,

@imalcolm
Thank you!
It's a real nightmare.

This last bout lasted 15 hours straight.
At some point it just becomes to much to deal with and you just want it to end no matter what.

This is the 3rd time in barely 4 weeks now, after the initial one at the end of February.
Really scared that a there will be more as I just can't take it anymore...

OutofPrintArchive,
@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games avatar

@civfanatics thank you.
It’s been a very rough month.
I’m really hoping that this will be the last of it. Although I don’t have much faith in that since it’s the 4th time this year. 🙁

OutofPrintArchive,
@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games avatar

@HauntedOwlbear
I don’t think it’s possible to describe the pain to someone who’s never experienced this, but hell certainly is a fitting description. Especially when it continues on for hours and hours, well beyond the point where you even attempted to somewhat deal with it.
It’s just too much.
