@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

Finished X-Men '97 - what an epic finale 🤯 Tolerance is Extinction – Part 3. Best tv show I watched this year. Can't get enough of the Newton Brothers banger tracks - is there a full OST release already? Couldn't find it on Tidal yet.

Oh it's a really fun game with just a few rough edges.
There's a PS3 version as well, which again, only released in Japan.
It's basically anime Lost Planet. 😄

I really love this video.
Despite the clickbaity title, he’s extremely level headed in everything he puts forward.
And picks on one of my biggest pet peeves: the authoritative critic, who words their opinion pieces in such a way that leaves no room for different viewpoints or experiences.

I actually didn’t have the original Castlevania back in the day. A friend did, so I did play it lots.
But I did get Simon’s Quest and loved it, despite being imperfect. 😊

You also have to keep in mind that it was a very different time back then.
We were all used to getting screwed by super tough games or ones that we just didn't know how to play at first. Faxanadu is another one that comes to mind. 😅

Again, no European release sadly.
But at least it’s better than nothing.

I have a hard time remembering when I sold games or consoles and didn’t end up regretting it in the end. It just keeps eating at you. 🙁
Which is why I stopped doing it completely and end up with way too many games…

The tips section for Gynoug on Mega Drive from Mean Machines 6 - March 1991 (UK)

One of my favourite games on the system back in the day.
The art was something else!
This one can actually be bought on all modern systems, same as Gleylancer.

@Bigblue1106
It was such a brilliant system wasn’t it. The SNES and MD perfectly complemented each other.
Just read somewhere that the home ports of Kyukyoku Tiger are a waste of time when you have the arcade game.
Someone clearly didn’t play the weird MD port where the bullets seem to predict where you’ll be. 😅

The one system that was on par with the MD back then was the PC-Engine though. Again just brilliant. Shame we never got it here in Europe.
