After mobilizing a grassroots movement to build the Blue Wave in 2018, defeat Trump in 2020 and stop the supposedly inevitable red wave in 2022, we’re organizing to win a real Democratic trifecta in November. Join the work that’s happening to restore our reproductive freedom and pass vital democracy reforms. https://act.indivisible.org/survey/majority_over_maga_signup?source=mastodon&medium=directpost
In 2009 t0 2011 the Democrats held all 3 branches of government and did not pass reproductive freedom laws. What makes you think they will do so this time?
Both parties are capitalist parties, that divide the voters on wedge issues like abortion. If they had passed that bill, the issue would be moot, they would not have anything to campaign on.
I am building a many core #Forth computer on FPGAs using open source tools. It will run on boards with an FPGA, two USB ports, an RP2040 to drive the HDMI port, Flash and Hyperram.
A group of Boeing employees are sitting on a plane getting ready for takeoff.
The pilot comes on over the intercom and says "Folks, we're pleased to have you flying with us on our brand new 737, fresh from our good friends at Boeing!"
Immediately, the Boeing employees all scramble to get out of their seats and off the plane as quickly as possible. It's utter pandemonium in the aisles as everyone starts to panic.
@box464 I am a big believer that the #fediverse needs to become an economy in order to grow rapidly. I know that people are against centralised monopoly corporations advertising here, and tracking, but i really hope that we learn how to allow small companies to advertise.
For example could I pay to show my CV to people who follow #fpga?
Here is a proposed business model for the fediverse.
I would offer $100 to my server admin, and the server admin of the person who found me a new job. Paid 1 week after I started work there.
This would help job seekers. It would help the server admins. It would help companies, find people smart enough to get off of the corporate media. It would attract job seekers.
Win win all around!
What do you think?
Should I try this when I start looking for an #fpga job?
@box464
My idea was that people could just boost cv postings as a way to generate revenue for their server.
As for activity pub, you are way ahead of me. An offer sounds perfect. I am offering my services.
Do I already see offers? Can I automatically promote or block them?
but thanks for being interested in this topic. There is too much negativity towards business on the fediverse. It harms us all.
An important distinction is slowly being uncovered about the definition of the term "fediverse." Who is it that gets to decide what this place is? How are we being represented? These are not easy questions to answer and if we don't do a better job describing ourselves, then the job will get done for us by people who don't understand the underlying values we hold. #fediverse#meta#threads
At a rally tonight in Georgia, Donald Trump — who early in his presidency used the Stalinist term “enemies of the people” to refer to the media — calls the journalists covering his event “criminals.”
Given the MSM censorship and propoganda, I agree with trump that they are criminals, the problem is that during his term in presidency, he did nothing about them, probably even enabled them.
@Daojoan The energy consumpiton of machine learning doubles every 4 months. It drains investment from other imporant areas. Ultimately it will prove to be on the greatest malinvestments of all time, following the build out of the american suberbs, and the world flocking to DOS, Windows and the Intel chips.
I am happy to have a voice conversation with you on doing physics on Reiki.
My undergraduate degree was in Physics from MIT.
I am now retired, but returned to graduate school for a master's degree in digital electronics.
Your video and the mentioned article really shifted my thinking. That is my highest compliment. It is perfectly clear to me that these meridians run through the body and control growth, or healing in adults.
Today, our headquarters in Brussels are raising an orange flag to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
We will continue to work tirelessly to stop violence against women and girls. We owe it to those who are no longer with us and to all who continue to suffer.
What about violence against men? Think of all of the soldiers killed or wounded in Ukraine. Men are both more likely to commit violence, and to be subject to violence. But just because some cause it, does not mean we should ignore the other men who are victims.
I realize that I have been doing a lot of polls about the war in Gaza. It's what's on my mind, and I feel uncomfortable asking questions about easier topics right now.
What bothers me most about the war in gaza is how the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany and Australia are in lockstep about supporting Israeli war crimes. It is almost as if they are not separae governments, but just puppets controlled by some larger entity hidden behind the screens? Maybe it is the carbon lobby, eager to access the oil reserves discovered under Palestine.
Sitting patiently whilst Julie re dyes my hair aka regingering reading about #FreeBSD of all things. I've read about the differences between #Linux and #BSD and now I'm onto the ports system and OMG I'm nearly tempted to give it a whirl on my trusty old test laptop. :freebsd:
How many folk have if any have switched from Linux to BSD and if you have please tell me why and what you prefer over the former ?
I want to use an #FPGA for #video. Video is 24 bits wide. Sadly all of the FPGAs I see have memory of 18 bits or 36 bits, even the companies focussed on video do that.
