@rolle@wild1145 yeah Iv noticed this over the past few days, original thought it was on my side but going to the original page shows that images are really struggling to load.
We are planning to release security patches for versions 3.5, 4.0, 4.1 and nightly next Tuesday, Sep 19, at 15:00 UTC. We encourage server administrators to plan for a timely upgrade to ensure their Mastodon server is protected.
Can people stop setting up these news relay accounts on various instances, or at least if your gonna do it then don’t add media to every single post 😭. Literally a waste of bandwidth and media storage!
@trendless yeah same here but Iv noticed people will make these bot accounts on well known instances to and they will lay dormant and then just start spamming random news posts out of the blue lol
Changed the site theme to Bird Like UI by @rolle. It's minimal and clean. Just the CSS version right now to see how things go but so far it looks amazing! :pepe_LFG: :uraraka_smile:
Infosec friends are unanimous: if you're using Chrome, you want to visit chrome://settings/adPrivacy and turn off Ad Topics, Site-Suggested Ads, and Ad Measurement.
IMPORTANT: you must do this for each of your Chrome profiles, since it's not a global setting.

@feditips tbh it’s better to start your own instance, managed hosting is often very overpriced and really stingy on storage. Taking the time to setup and instance is more worth it imo!
I’m kinda curious, if you are a #mastoadmin what specs do you have for the server you run your instance on and have you ever gotten to a point where you needed to beef them up to handle instance load?
