I rarely see a sunset, I face the opposite way and see those awesome sunrises. But I had a chance tonight, so I took more than one. Tomorrow is going to be a hellish day, with heavy rain.
Thanks to a collaboration with my friend Stephen Voss, we present this composite image, taken over 3 nights last week. With Dunedin's Mount Cargill Tower as foreground, It shows the change in altitude of the sun over 3 nights caused by Earth's axial tilt and our motion around our parent star. It also shows the rotation of the sun over 3 Earth days (look at the sunspots and how they change position). Photos by me, processing by Stephen Voss. I love collaborations! #astronomy#NewZealand#sunset
Sunset a few days ago over the rapidly shrinking Great Salt Lake. Despite the shrinking, the lawn sprinklers are going strong in the suburbs. #sunset#photography
📷 Up from a 2-hour nap at 8:30, I hurried out to see what the sunset might look like. Opened the front door, and the humidity hit, then I saw the street was wet. It had rained—stormed. There were large green elm leaves in the yard from the neighbor's tree.
Picked up my regular Cucumber/Lime/Mango Lemonade at Circle K and pulled into an abandoned convenience store across from the megachurch to watch the last light.
I was able to capture an amazing sunset last night after the rain and even some thunderstorms passed through 🌅 📷 Really happy with how this one turned out 😍 #Photography#Sunset
When I was a teenager, I could pull a transmission and replace a clutch and at the drop of a hat. Now, not so much ... not that I would want to do that anymore. Just a few years ago, I had a taillight go out on my car and I couldn't figure out how to get to the taillight, so I ended up taking it to the dealer. Not only did automotive technology advance without me, but my desire to do such things waned out of existence.
I've had my current car for eight years and keep telling myself I need a new car for travel. But my car still runs pretty well, and I don't drive it much anyway, so it's really hard to get new car fever. Besides, I hate the process of buying a new car it's a pain in an area at the lower half of my torso. It's something on my things to do tomorrow list.

Not the kind of thing I usually post... but just wanted to share this sunset pic I took last month while out for oatmeal during a thunderstorm😁
Does anyone else enjoy going out in bad weather sometimes?
