🆕 blog! “Rebuilding FourSquare for ActivityPub using OpenStreetMap”

#PHPTek just opened up the ability to get virtual passes to next week’s conference, so if you can’t make it in-person, you can still watch the sessions.
You can get your virtual pass and watch the live stream of the conference at https://phptek.tv
Tickets for the in-person event are still on sale, too. I hope to see you there! https://tek.phparch.com
If anyone is interested in a hybrid software engineering role in #Nashville, here’s a #PHP / #Laravel role with a good, local company, Bernard Health.
Edit: I removed the word “remote” from “remote-hybrid,” since this was confusing to some. This is a remote hybrid position, meaning it requires some days in the office each week.
I am seeking speakers for my @phpugffm & @phpugmrn meetups. We prefer in-person presentations in Frankfurt or the Mannheim area, but remote talks are also an option. If you have anything interesting to share with us, let us know. We'd be more than happy to have you! Thx! #php#phpc#phpugffm#phpugmrn
Oh! I forgot to say. https://caniphp.com/ has an “API” now. It’s just a static JSON version of the data. There’s no parameters of filters. But it might be useful if you want to build anything on top of the data.
Let’s not forget #Drupal’s future depends on a healthy ecosystem for #PHP. When we have discussions about the future of Drupal or #WordPress or any other project that depends on PHP, we shouldn’t forget to also discuss how we can ensure a future for the programming language that powers these. https://mastodon.social/@palantir/112292234589621144

Ryan is one of my favorite persons in the #PHP community. I cannot imagine what he and his family must be going through. They face expensive medical bills and more ahead. If you can help financially, please do so.

Reminder that I am looking for a new consulting/contracting job starting in January. Looking for gigs where I help with a legacy #PHP app to help maintain and grow it while improving your testing practicds and mentor more junior members #FediHire
In case you're not aware, #php is more then just Laravel or Symfony. If you are looking for alternatives, I have good news for you! There are plenty of Frameworks out there which are battle tested and production ready.
On Mastodon (and maybe other Fediverse services), it’s common for folks to follow hashtags, so if you’re posting about PHP-related things, use the hashtag and you’ll reach a wider audience.
I’m very excited to announce I’ll be speaking at @phptek in 2024!
I’ll be leading a tutorial on building #Composer packages, and I’m giving a keynote on #OpenSource and contributing to #PHP.
Tickets are still on sale at their cheapest prices, so please get them now before they post the schedule. That's when the price goes up! https://tek.phparch.com
