So Barnes & Noble has a 25% off discount code for Pre-orders until April 29th. As of this toot if you have a membership, the 10% does stack. Works on most pre-orders including manga and light novels
I canceled some pre-orders and reordered them, and pre-ordered some other books. It might total around 30 books I pre-ordered with this deal... >_>
Without meaning to, I've stumbled into reading several scifi books about the environment recently, & it was interesting to see the different approaches they took. So naturally I rambled on about it on the blog...
It seems like the new default price for newly released #ebooks is $16.99 (CAD), although sometimes it's higher, of course. Just a year ago it was usually more like $14.99, which I already found expensive, and I remember noping out on $17.99 offerings.
Publishers do know this just pushes more people to libraries, right? I guess this is why they try so hard to limit library lending.
Finally listening to The Earth Transformed: An Untold Story by Peter Frankopan. His book The Silk Roads is a masterpiece, and should be required reading for everyone in "the west" during secondary school.
It's #introduction time, because better late than never, right? Let's go! YEAH!
So, hi! Hello! I'm Peter, young of heart, (relatively) old of age, and somewhere in-between during a full moon...
A lot of my free time is spent ✍️ about all things #indiegames over on https://www.wraithkal.com and reading these odd things with page after page of words called #books
There are even days, however crazy that might sound, on which my #Kindle sees more use than any gaming console! 🤓
From the award-winning author of The Order of the Day, a piercing account of the lesser-known conflict preceding the Vietnam War that dealt a fatal blow to French colonialism. Delving into the last gasps of the First Indochina War, which saw the communist Việt Minh take control of North Vietnam, Éric Vuillard vividly illustrates the attitudes that both enabled French colonialist abuses and ultimately led to their defeat and withdrawal.
Republicans in Indiana think they've found where to put their BOOK BAN THAT CHARGES LIBRARIANS WITH FELONIES into legislation. Amendment could be popped literally any day.
hi, i'm rune! :heart_disability: i'm nonbinary (she/her), bi/pan, polyamorous, pro-kink, and more! despite my limited spoons, i’m fascinated by most everything in the world, including...
gaming (ffxiv, minecraft…) :gaming_love:
writing (prose, poetry, roleplay…) 🖋️
reading (sff, romance…) 📚
programming & math :blobfox_computer:
music (listening, performing, & composing) 🎹
psychology & philosophy :galaxy_brain:
visual art (illustration, animation, 3D…) 🎨
the list goes on! and there are so many fascinating things in the world i haven’t even heard of yet!
i'm an ADHD autist and i love getting to know people, but still learning how to make room for myself. i also suffer from complex PTSD and other disabilities, which have resulted in my plurality. i’m happy to meet singlets and other systems alike! :plural_ampersand:
i care deeply about accessibility and disability rights, queer rights, racial equality—really the whole spectrum of human rights (intersectionality is important!) as well as animal rights and environmental issues. honestly, i just care a whole-heckin-lot! :heart_progress: :ms_globe:
unfortunately, this causes a lot of overwhelm and i’m struggling to balance effective activism with self-care. so i might not always be able to engage or research as thoroughly as i’d like. i do what i can to make informed choices and reduce harm, and i’m hoping to curate a space for myself that offers at least some relief from the dumpster fire we live in. :dumpster_fire:
there's probably still a million-billion things i'd like to add but can't remember. above all, the most important thing you need to know about me is that my favorite color is blue. :ms_heart_blue:
My #bookreview is brief/won't spoil, to spread good, great, & spectacular #horror#books far & wide.

THE MERRY DREDGERS by @jeremycshipp is a captivating book filled with two worlds: one of a fragile, randomly cruel reality, and one of a fantastical (somewhat nightmarish) whimsy. The tale that bridges & enfolds them is fabulously imaginative, original, & permeated with heart. (Meerkat Press)
My goal this year is to hit the road locally and start in person book sales, signings, talks, etc. I have a few I’ll be able to announce soon, but if you know of any events in CT that might fit, please let me know. Thank you! #amwriting#author#authorlife#books

A woman must outsmart a hellish hex to try & save a friendship that's rapidly turning toxic in CURSE CORVUS by Alex Ebenstein. This compelling, spooky tale will grab you in its claws (talons?) from the start & have you keeping a wary eye out for birds long after you've finished. (Dreadstone Press)
'There was a perfect balance between suspense and revelations throughout which kept the book engaging and engrossed me from start to finish. I highly recommend!' Amazon review for my 2nd book. #books#HorrorBookshttps://amzn.to/2YqEcG9
