Thought. I have always run warm. I do feel the cold, but not as much as most people. I hate (detest?) overheated department stores. This got worse with the onset of perimenopause, & I was unable to wear jumpers for years, because I couldn’t get them off quickly enough during hot flushes, which threatened spontaneous combustion. This settled somewhat after finally going on HRT.

I’ve noticed a change since going on ADHD meds. I now wear winter pjs on a “cool” summers night, & a nightie on warmer ones & am more likely to don a jacket of an evening.

I’m wondering whether this is a consequence of the meds, & overheating is related to ADHD. #ADHD #ActuallyAutistic @actuallyautistic #Menopause #HotFlushes #WomensHealth

#FDA has approved blood test that can identify pregnant women who are at imminent risk of developing a severe form of high blood pressure called pre-eclampsia, a leading cause of disability and death among childbearing women.

Uncontrollable #HotFlashes woke me up 🥵
Going to stick my head in freezer & put fabric ice packs on body after.
Have to change bed linens because I sweated right through them.
I hope to get more rest soon; when my body cools down enough to be comfortable to fall asleep again.

"The Center for #ReproductiveRights on Tuesday filed legal actions in #Tennessee, #Idaho and #Oklahoma on behalf of #women who say they were denied #abortion care in medical emergencies...

The goal, Hearron said, is twofold — to demonstrate that pregnant people are being denied timely medical care wherever abortion is banned, and to give clarity to doctors who he described as “terrified” of providing the procedure."

this is not a subject us guys speak up about very often, maybe because we feel it's none of our business, but i'm going to pull the "i have my own history of weight issues" card here and talk about it anyway...

a lot of people seem to think that the girl to the left in this chart is the one with the ideal body weight, when in reality, she's slightly malnourished.

people who are thin as bones and close to anorexia get an unhealthy amount of positive attention in the media. and i don't understand why.

as a man, i woudn't really think of a girl as fat unless she looked like number 4 from the left. number 3 just looks like she has a relaxed attitude, which i feel is attractive in its own way.

aside from the horrible beautify standards that the media pushes on us these days, i imagine that girls must get a lot of abuse from toxic people to feel this insecure.

No federal law requires employers to accommodate menopausal symptoms.

Unlike pregnancy, this stage of life that impacts tens of millions of women is not protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act, as U.S. courts have consistently held that menopause is not a disability, even when the symptoms are seriously affecting someone’s ability to do their job.

Now, a long-term follow-up of the Initiative (WHI)…found that for many younger menopausal women—under 60—the benefits…outweigh the risks for short-term treatment of symptoms, incl’g hot flashes & night sweats.

How long could blue states last without the divine stewardship of red states? A whole hell of a lot longer than Kevin Sorbo's "career."

Come to think of it, a blue nation with sensible gun control, excellent public schools, bodily autonomy, Ben & Jerry's, and no Kevin Sorbo or Ted Cruz sounds.... AMAZING.

Why is pre-eclampsia still causing the deaths of mothers and their babies?
The condition affects up to 6% of all pregnancies yet understanding of its causes and how to treat it remains basic
Having had one normal pregnancy, Emma Bailey assumed that her second experience of childbirth would progress relatively smoothly. But, at 34 weeks, she began to suffer sudden bursts of stabbing pain just underneath her ribcage.
