Putting aside the callousness of the denial of #BodilyAutonomy to women [yeah. I know. Hard to do.] But seriously, #Trump is basically in #racist#blackface in this video. WTAF?
Nederlandse musea staan vol met #roofkunst. #BIJ1 heeft hier vandaag tijdens de Grote #Indonesië-tentoonstelling in de Nieuwe Kerk aandacht voor gevraagd.
Als partij die strijdt voor #dekolonisatie, zien wij het teruggeven van roofkunst als een belangrijke stap vooruit. We moeten de schade erkennen die we voormalige koloniën hebben toegebracht door het roven van hun culturele #erfgoed en dit herstellen.
Gelijktijdig met onze actie vond vandaag ook de jaarlijkse #Sinterklaasintocht plaats, waarbij op verschillende plekken in het land nog steeds de racistische karikatuur van zwarte piet te zien is. Net als roofkunst, is ook zwarte piet een van de vele uitingen waarin we de erfenis van vierhonderd jaar #kolonialisme terugzien.

Wij blijven strijden voor het teruggeven van roofkunst dat in Nederlandse handen ligt en het verbieden van alle vormen van #blackface.

@stgreenie Al Jolson's blackface was stomach-turning when I was a kid during the '50s and '60s--and it's just as cringey today. See, blackface and the stereotyped caricatures whites often would display made it easy for the lynch mob to apprehend, torture, and hang some poor soul seen as less than human. So, miss me with "woke sensibilities."
