We can't replace them, but we welcome anyone looking for a friendly, inclusive community to join us at the Data Science Learning Community (@DSLC) https://DSLC.io

I'm absolutely floored. I've been hired by Edera as a Founding Principal Engineer!! Looking forward to working with @alex@ariadne and Emily Long (no masto) bringing guaranteed memory safety and stronger security to virtualization. #fedihired#womenintech#edera#krata#rust
"One of the lads – Things I’m tired of hearing about #womenintech". Talk by Sophie Küster at the @fsfe women group meeting on April 22, 20:00 CEST. BBB room: https://conf.fsfe.org/b/women
"Whenever one of the graduates, Jane Monroe – a #mathematician who worked in #cryptanalysis in Hut 6 at Bletchley Park, deciphering the coded messages sent on German Enigma machines around the clock – was asked what she did during the war, she would always say: “Oh, I made the tea.”"
I'm Lily, a proud trans lesbian from Denver, a mom of a 13 year old, and a perpetual instance migrator.
I'm a neurodivergent woman in tech working as a Senior SRE at Writer.
I like to run around the farm, hang out with my kiddo, play guitar, snowboard, go camping, play videogames, hang out at the local lesbian bar, and see whatever kind of trouble my wife @deb and I can get into on the weekends.
People ask questions to #learn. I'm at a #conference today and I went up to an exhibitor and asked them about what they do. I'll admit…I was drawn in by their cool logo and nice swag 😅
The person working the table said “you’ve never heard of $foo?!”
What suggestions does Nuria Oliver, co-founder and Scientific Director of ELLIS - European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems , have for addressing gender imbalance in #computing?
To celebrate this year’s #WomensHistoryMonth, ACM has teamed up with "The Machine," a Computer Science education #podcast discussing technology, to highlight the journey and accomplishment of #WomenInTech.
Happy international women’s day! Thank you for all #WomenInTech and #PyLadies I know. Thank you for your friendship, your support and the community that we built together. Let’s us celebrate our work, our success and our achievements. Love you all ❤️
Companies using stock images to show appreciation for #internationalwomensday seems like a bit of woke washing.
Show me the real women in your company. That is how you show the moments they had to get angry to be heard, the times they had to fight for equal pay, and all the times your company had to learn about and tackle such issues.
Don't just applaud some stock photo ladies for being part of your company. That is not helpful.
At OpenProject, we stand up for #equality and #diversity and are very fortunate to have great women who help us move forward – the picture below shows only a few of them. We know that this is not at all granted everywhere in the world.
And as a technical company, we particularly value #womenintech.
International Women's Day is over tomorrow. The commitment to equality continues.
Not that many topics of interest, unfortunately. 😅 And in what seems to be quite characteristic of FOSS in general, very few #WomenInTech involved as speakers.
Anubha Maneshwar's talk looks really interesting, but it might not work for my schedule. The accessibility talk by Nancy Reyes Flores and Raashi Saxena seems interesting too. Aparna Sundar's could also be worth it. Cool to see that the CEOs of @nextcloud and @penpot will be speaking, on top of that.
One of those Women in Tech types,
artistic and creative types,
dreamer types,
neuro spicy types,
exploring types,
and generally seeing what else I can learn on a day to day basis.
Looking to make friends and prefer to use Mastodon for the things I love.
Why can't just one single good work thing happen to me without a guy finding it necessary to remind me that my purpose in life is to be fucked by men, and that I'm not even good enough for that?
Like... just why?
Something positive happened and now I feel like shit.
For an article that I would like to write in 2024, I am looking for disabled women working in tech because I want to show that they exist. Do you know any? I discovered Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Sarah Herrlinger and Denna Lambert. THANKS ! 🙏 #accessibility#a11y#WomenInTech#Disability#Tech#inclusion
