With the latest changes it is now possible to run #QGIS in your web browser. Soon, you can package your data and serve it directly to user web browser with no spatial infrastructure.
I currently work at the Icelandic Met Office as a #GIS Coordinator in #Reykjavik. In general, I help people make maps, find #geodata either with code (#python or #javascript) or with desktop software like #QGIS
I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, climbing and biking. I've been involved with Icelandic Search & Rescue for many years, both on the frontline (mountain rescue) and as an instructor for new team members.
Although the eruption activity has diminished quite fast, it's not over yet. Also, the start of this eruption was absolutely massive. Let us compare lava area with the previous eruptions at #Fagradalsfjall and number of eruptive days with this one.
For the past 2 weeks or so we’ve had an ongoing earthquake swarm very close to the town of Grindavík in the Reykjanes Peninsula. The swarm is very likely caused by an inflating magma body currently at about 5 km depth. The shape of the body is most likely a flat sill expanding and causing earthquakes. These events might lead to an eruption very close to people’s homes and lots of infrastructure.
Elevation difference map (vertical displacement) based on two different acquisitions by our remote sensing team. These area base on two DEMs spanning 1 Dec. to 15 Jan. covering the latest eruption in #Grindavík

Hi #QGIS Community, wir gründen gerade ein #DevOps Team für QGIS-Erweiterungen. Falls jemand einen sicheren #job mit viel Gestaltungsfreiraum im #FOSSGIS Bereich sucht:
#intergeo was a blast! Thanks to everyone who came by to ask questions, propose ideas, explore business opportunities or say hello. 🙂
It is terrific to see #QGIS and #QField constantly taking over more and more shares in the professional #GIS market, and being one of the leading companies behind this, it obviously makes us very proud!
Flyover over the island of #Iona using QGIS and Blender, starting above Sligneach and flying roughly north, ending just past the Abbey/Nunnery.
In compositing, ran normalized depth map through a Kirsch filter at 50%. This gives the fog-like effect (and gradients are low frequency, so it compresses down really well).
Linux, Windows and Mac packages of #QGIS point releases 3.28.13 "Firenze" (old LTR) and 3.34.1 "Prizren" (new LTR) ready on https://qgis.org. Make maps not war!
The distribution of values means a linear gradient only shows the busiest of sea lanes. So I used log10(log10(value)) to normalise values with #qgis raster calculator.
