@themagpi I'm early stage coding...
The server is written in #golang, and will receive RGB values (and more) from a web form.
The #pimoroni Plasma Stick 2040W is long-polling those values from the server.
I'm hoping it should all come together for @emf 🙂
Rarely do my domestic interests collide so acutely as returning home to find some weirdly leafy cat vomit and a bunch of my nascent chilli plants with big chomp marks in them
LinkedIn is so far off the rails. It's all:
"An hour ago I gave birth to my first child, and this experience taught me these seven emoji bullet items about marketing..."
@gsuberland It's very much not for either of us 😄
For the box-regular career focused, I can see it... but the fuel is personal hype/hustle and it's had an injection of life-blogging nonsense from Twitter's fall - all of which are massive turnoffs for me. Seems ascendent amongst the networks, for better or worse!
First little test prints of some glow in the dark @badge#tildagon#hexpansion shims.. just some M3 bolt holes for now. Will tinker with other ideas in @FreeCAD and hopefully bring odds n sods for trades! :)
I love code tinkering 😄
Spent a couple of hours last night making a web-hosted panel to set RGB values in an addressable LED string.
That's first POC for the sparkletent...
@llamasoft_ox this address has been burnt onto my mind from being a young teen discovering Llamatron - I think there must have been a section on the title screen about shareware and sending a cheque in the post!?
@llamasoft_ox Ah. Oh!
I must have assumed it was your place in Wales because there certainly are a lot of pleasant mounts there?!
I guess the salient point is that I absorbed an address and had it wedged in my head for 30-odd years 😄
Thank you for the games over the years, especially Llamatron, Tempests, and the light synth experiments!
So, yeah, Google Podcasts app is being phased out.
I like the way it works. Straightforward, but helps me keep on track with a selection of podcasts that I listen to intermittently.
Any suggestions for a good replacement (Android)?
@coldclimate You need to move by that special date otherwise it just looks up to the export screen. I got a preview of that when I travelled to USA.
No idea why it's deprecating. If it needs some cloud to run, then roll that into a Google account subscription? Bah!
I'm not sure whether to pursue this...
My friend Nick died last year. His wife is looking to gather together a folder of videos of him because she and the girls miss his voice.
I'm wondering whether an AI system can make a model from this mixed corpus of speech and reproduce it to an authentic standard, so that 'he' can do things like wishing the girls a happy birthday.
Would this be (1) feasible (2) healthy?
(Let's assume I've watched every Black Mirror twice, so I don't need pointing there!)
These fictions go way beyond my intention (I was thinking scripted audio rather than an LLM; the latter is genuine Black Mirror territory). But it's all a BIG unknown.
It's hard even to imagine how such systems would affect my own grief and boundaries, and - even if restricted - opens a seductive opportunity to less confined things.
This is to say nothing of the commercial pressure / data leak aspects.
So- with consideration, extremely not on the cards but very interesting to think about.
@z303 It's wild. I can definitely see that something in this area /could/ have a positive / therapeutic value, but - as inevitable with commercial tech - some folks will go hard in and there'll be nothing to stop that.
