AAAAAARGH I just had the end of Top Boy spoiled by a wiki page I accidentally clicked on while searching for something else, ffs
Jumping back to the KU+ oshpark board for a bit to run some EM models before ordering it.
Here's one of the diffpairs that I hadn't quite tuned right. You can see that the zero crossings in the waveforms on the P/N legs aren't quite aligned.
"At even higher pressures, ice is predicted to become a metal; this has been variously estimated to occur at 1.55 TPa or 5.62 TPa."
Tired: searching for metallic hydrogen.
Wired: searching for metallic water.
Just got a new (US) passport and... WOW. As a security professional I'm impressed.
Spent a while going over it with a microscope and I keep finding more and smaller anti-counterfeiting features.
There's the usual watermarked paper with embedded fibers. But also multi-material multi-layer 3D features, microlenses, laser engraving, microprinting, holograms, solid plastic overlays with microprinting above and below, color changing ink, and more. The passport number and bearer's name/DOB are in so many places it's ridiculous, every time I think I've found all of them I find yet another.
The smallest features I've seen so far are only about 2.3 μm across.
The current POCSAG revival with all the projects and #DAPNET is very nice.
I think I might have finally come up with a workable solution for hosting my DJ sets without annoying restrictions. It isn't free but it's cheap enough that it's viable.
The Railway Departure Board project is pretty much finished I think.
For the most part, it will display the latest message from the @nottinghack Discord. Every five minutes or so, it'll display the departure board from Nottingham Railway Station. It does a few other things, like show which doorbell is being rung.

What do the Goa'uld say when they want to measure the light quality of a white LED?

is... a project really necessary for this? https://github.com/migtissera/Sensei isn't that literally these models jobs?
they're making a new Tron movie, which is cool in theory, but the "AI makes first contact with humans" angle has me worried that it's a rushed cash grab trying to capitalise on recent ML hype rather than something they actually had a compelling story for.
