500 char is not enough to explain why, but I am going to throw my hat in the #fedihire ring and see what comes of it. If you don't try, you won't succeed, right?
I am looking for a technical managerial role, or potentially technical sales. Years ago, I applied for a sales position at Nagios. Ethan told me to come back for a technical position interview the next day, which I did, and got. I would still like to get more involved on the business side.
I'm leaving #academia behind, I've had enough. Does anyone have any good job recs for someone with a master's degree in cell biology and experience working with lab finances? I'd prefer to not have to relocate. I'm in the Seattle area
#TransLifeline is seeking an Executive Director. The salary range is $127,000-$150,000, and the position is remote. Application deadline is April 26, 2024.
I have run out of severance and now I'm running out of savings. It's do or die now, folks. Job offers, job leads, job hunting advice...please send them all my way, and/or boost for reach. Freelancing is on the table, too. Details about me and what I'm looking for, to follow.
I have some availability over the next few weeks, so if you need a logo for your project, gylphs for your app, or illustrations for... well, whatever you need illustrations for, ping me!
If you wish to find out more about me as a person, my strengths, skills and what I'm like to work with, please take a look at my personal user manual at https://www.andycarolan.com/myusermanual

I'm looking for a contract frontend dev to help reduce our backlog of small & medium UI issues and maintenance tasks at @redqueen.
We're a tiny team, so the context switching for this sort of bread and butter work is brutal on the two folks who are responsible for designing and building out more substantial architectural stuff & infrastructure. I think that having someone else on hand to help pick up that slack could be really useful for us.
The core skills we're looking for are HTML, CSS, and Django. Our application is focused on server-side rendering; we are not building an single-page app. We're looking for someone who's solid on the basics: semantic web, and accessibility.
In a perfect world this person would have the ability to learn Rust (or maybe already knows some). Our HTML rendering is not in Rust, but it will probably move there within the next year. We will be using more JavaScript (written as TypeScript) over time, but this is not a skill we need right now, so that's a nice bonus (or learning opportunity) too.
Right now, we're a small five-person team, most of whom work Pacific hours. But we're optimistic that this sort of work is pretty self-contained, and should be possible asynchronously, so we're open to any time zone. Unfortunately, we are only able to contract with people authorized to work in the US, though you can be located anywhere.
A friend of mine is launching an audio book. If you are skilled in promotion and creating influencer campaigns, please reply to this toot, including any links to your site, services or portfolio. This is a paid opportunity. Thanks!
I am a software developer and I excel at development with Ruby, though I’d love to have opportunities to work with other technologies (Go/Rust/Swift/…).
I'm officially looking for a new job. Don't suppose anyone knows Bristol, UK needs a software engineer? I am also considering remote opportunities.
I've been doing full-stack web development for a while now (typescript, java, kotlin, node.js) but I'm open to exploring different technologies. Challenges are good. Game dev industry would be a plus.
Is every #academic research assistant/associate position in the Humanities for graduate students only?! I gotta start looking elsewhere.... wherever that is...
@freemo Very effective even just by hashtag for #fedihire#jobs - I believe I/we shared a variety of good job hashtags during that to get good coverage. And I think your website was clear and easy to point to what's available...
(I can't search my posts to give example but there were more hashtags, though FediJob and #FediHire I remember being better sometimes or catching more... I remember referring at least 2 people when I was in that mode - I should have got the commission on that :D - but anyway I still have some gold stars to stick on my own book so I'l do that now ⭐ :)
🎤 If you can fix the audio upload on QOTO I'll happily take that as reward :ablobwink: especial so I can Gary and our conversations out there (I'm happy to do posts to follower only if hat helps federate the few audio above a few megs)...

Okay folks, in five days I'm out of work (we'll be fine!)
I'm exploring some interesting options for what's next, but job hunting is a roller coaster. Today's sure thing can be tomorrow's rug pull
So I'm putting myself out there! If you or someplace you know is looking for an experienced vulnerability researcher & reverse engineer, give me a shout
I have 24 years career experience and ~13 years in v/r & reversing
I'm a generalist Linux/BSD sysadmin, with a long (20+ years) and wide experience. System management, configuration management & other automation (salt, ansible, puppet), monitoring, simple tools and scripts (bash, python), infrastructure services (LDAP, DNS, some networking), general DB skills (not a DBA), devops-y stuff, interest in security, and more; long experience working remotely, some of it in multi time-zone
Two weeks ago, I said I would share more about what I wanted to do next. Well, I'm ready now!
I'm looking for a role where I can use my decade of developer-facing experience to help build technical products (and relationships) that developers will ❤️. #fedihire#jobs
