@freemo Good stuff and seems obvious to ask - but what's the overall goal of your endeavours, like after hiring, getting right people, mini-work and mini-goals of business... like if you could skip to some completed medium or almost completed-end goals then what would it be as a professional result and collection of words to help describe it? Is there an existing example company of what you're aiming for as a similar thing? The "data" or "science" it's still a bit too vague for what it is you're actually going to do or how.

If it were anyone else you might think it's a bit pie in the sky claim but since you have more resources and skills to do something I believe you might actually do it!...

So to continue my judgement about what our business can be is naturally disappointed a bit from just hearing another data type thing in and out, who cares about people, and ok a bit of open source and ethics as company. But not as the main training or conversion (people themselves coming out better, using people and spiralling others into similar better ways and practices, using all other open-sources projects etc).

So asking me of the end goals I see on my side - it's love and friendship with the world - but the mid-goals are something more of the working with each other and on each others troubles... on the dreams even... more the deep diving stuff more than raw numbers and "business".

If what you said genuinely is without logic and emotional training of people or not trying to sort out people out humanly and demonstrating that better - then it means you're just dealing with the same things again, computers and data which are not really solving things or more going to solve it for the wrong people / those paying - so the misunderstanding of people / devaluation / competition and aggression frustration / together etc remains unchanged and as time goes on worse / decaying unless we actually grow people up together (us included but in pyramid of knowledge or various power).

Honestly my hope is that you actually train people to feeling more at ease with themselves and others, and make this the actual work to spiral all that more than AI data, more the human collective intelligence, p2p and less making other stuff the business of selling / extraction / storing data.... which when it goes leave less skilled people perhaps...

I don't want to sound like I doubt you but honestly everything in business seems to measurably fuel those war like things, same entities that don't care and allowed you to create a company in the first place as a sub-directory or sub-directory under them, so if they are not caring (USA caring?) then your company is also limited as athe parent 'company' - I just think we could have more fun with people enjoying this time of focus and changing each other than falling for serving bad parents and masters.. at least a warmer exchange rather than raw data somewhere behind closed doors.

You will be rich I'm sure, but not the right kind of rich... as those who pay for it are going to be the ones playing people off each other / war since it's already based on that as fake/debt-based games which uncaring banks and governments have undoubtedly made... Your 'company' will surely be part of that... so the conversion of humans is what I mean here... not easy to explain but easy to see as communication is not great on many levels or genuine... and that is a good start not able to be done without real focus as if good communication and friendship was our real business...

Put another way - if we are not dealing with people's own problems or training then we are surely losing heat and warmth by people... especially when there are many ready to divide and conquer us. People are the main problem and puzzle and key to loving-making friends - neither computers or computing, nor data is going to help that much...
and I think the past says that though Fediverse as a non-profit I think can really do well as p2p warmth and getting on with each other things as the real work in the world... ✊

Emotional intelligence and other words uncommon involved I can help with...which I think is more effective as data and science as that is not touching on any of that. What humanity needs os more of the humanity itself / the good people / you - rather than more of the same "business" and tax which is just used to rob people / devalue / divide them using their own hard work...

Perhaps my main judgement that nobody is really doing this fixing of people / schooling / daily helping everyone / using us as resources towards more of the same... and adjustment from previous unschooling... because frankly money and even data is not enough....

I need something to do.

For the absolute first time in my life I'm not filled with surging emotions. Today is like a tabula rasa for me, and I'm hoping to build on it.

I've been stuck in autistic burnout since I was 8yo. The only hobby I ever had was picking through rolls of pennies to pull out the wheatbacks, for one summer as a preteen.

I really could use something to do that isn't computer based. I have books, but want something more active.

Suggestions?

  • Some sort of sorting of a big pile of stuff (your attic / someone else's / a basement)

  • visiting old grandmas or people regularly almost to save their life (while saving your own)

  • cutting vegetables for others, potatoes are one of the best anyway so why not for yourselves and others?! (as a 1 logic)

  • cleaning cars as a informal business - most family can feel some pride with that and like the inside done too.

@AmpBenzScientist @freemo The very cheap plastic handle version is worth a shout also, using double sided thin metal 'Gillette' (or similar) semi-reusable / disposables. Seems totally opposite to the one piece but just saying it works...

1 pack of 10 = 20 sides = lot of shaves. Bulk buy = cheap = "for life" stock in big stack.

No maintenance with that (can you say more about maintenance with 1 piece, usually has leather strap on it's box which isn't in your picture but not sure if that does much anyway other than clean mostly and look good occasionally swiping each side of metal fffft fffft !).

@jellycrystals @AmpBenzScientist @freemo I'd say it's easy or the same, sometimes sharper as it's thin sharp metal as new (it dulls as you use more than once each time depending on your hair thickness and then you can flip sides if it accepts the whole double sided razor at the head (or I forget maybe all you have to break in half). So same kind of logic applies, to go with the skin (flat) rather than digging / chopping style or do small chops/scrapes (quite obvious or natural).
Might even be too sharp at first and just lighter hand needed.

I used thin layer of hand soap before so it's even cheaper and glass of water to swish the blade in as finger wipes are obviously asking for trouble but also wiping the metal can take off it's effective layer each side has (can see has slightly different colour at the edges).

Another pic showing:

  • razor (used / old) just to see shape.
  • Handle is "Majestic" but quite the generic.
  • Brush for cream (I thought it was to posh so used watery-soap to keep it ecological and economical.

I am avain pleasantly surprised by japanese curtosy at the airport. Apparently right before the crew comes to the gate (puntually one minute before the hour) thry all line up in a row and give a big biw of respect to all thr customers waiting, including the pilots. Thry then smile and wave to anyo e who makes contact.

Lovely culture to expiernce, i really do need to try to come here for a few months.

@freemo Just about your surprise or impression: Just wanted to say that on a plane it's more of a fabricated / commercial thing so while no doubt it's in the culture (and probably you don't judge it all and know a certain amount of all this is tourism) it's not necessarily a representation of actual culture at the time...

As a #Christian, this #Christmas + #Easter have been harder for me than any before.

Most years, amidst the horrors & disappointments of life, Christmas and Easter have provided comfort, hope and challenge: seasons to reflect and recommit, chances to once more receive divine gifts freely and dedicate myself to the good of my neighbours (near and far), to solidarity in suffering, struggle and in seeing those sometimes only momentary glimpses of how another world is possible.

But this Christmas, Christian communities across #Palestine cancelled Christmas celebrations. #Bethlehem was raided by the #IDF (while far worse atrocities were being inflicted on #Gaza just miles away). How then could we sing "O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see you lie"?

And this Easter just passed, nearly all the Christian communities in the holy land, descendents of those who have lived & worshipped there for almost 2,000 years, were refused access to #Jerusalem, while the survivors from the tiny Christian communities in Gaza huddled together–hungry, wounded, scared, grieving–amongst the rubble of their lives and society.

The weapons killing them were supplied by wealthy western nations, whose Christian leaders remain largely silent.

I started using packing cubes this trip to prepare for packing rather than just throwing everything in my luggage... I reallly am liking where this is going. Thinking and talking about why the #SocialWeb matters is so needed. I love the earlier examples in the show and agree that no ads or owner run algos improves our CL, but by following others who follow and boost others etc, the freedom is very limited by their choices. I prefer #AttentionDemocracy.

@freemo Very effective even just by hashtag for #fedihire #jobs - I believe I/we shared a variety of good job hashtags during that to get good coverage. And I think your website was clear and easy to point to what's available...

(I can't search my posts to give example but there were more hashtags, though FediJob and #FediHire I remember being better sometimes or catching more... I remember referring at least 2 people when I was in that mode - I should have got the commission on that :D - but anyway I still have some gold stars to stick on my own book so I'l do that now ⭐ :)
