Big news: Kitsune Tail's Steam Next Fest demo is live now! Go get it at https://store.steampowered.com/app/1325260 and experience the first part of this queer furry love triangle wrapped in an SMB3 jacket

You should definitely check the options. There's a CRT shader in Kitsune Tails made by @JoshJers which isn't on by default (because people get upset by that kinda thing) but playing with it on is totally the recommended experience

And for those of you who have Steam Decks, we've verified it works on that, too! And there's a new reveal trailer, showing off some of the bosses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRBcm5fagUU

Companies that bought a metric shit load of Nvidia processors want you to know how very badly you need a virtual assistant who spies on you and makes stuff up in order to justify it.

It just clicked in my brain. What I haven't been able to articulate about why I'm so anxious about Recall. I'm sure others have already gotten to where I am.

It's worse than "a system that tracks everything you do" and stores that info in a basic database that could be easily compromised.
It's worse than a nanny surveillance tool for companies to spy on their employees.

It's inescapable.

It doesn't matter if I make a dozen "how to disable recall" tutorials. The second YOUR data shows up on someone ELSE'S screen, it's in THEIR recall database.

It won't matter if you're a master expert specialist. You can't account for EVERY other computer you've ever interacted with. If a family member looks up an old email with your personal data in it, your data is now at risk.

If THEIR system is compromised YOUR data is at risk.

I just went from "vague feeling of unease" to "actively writing templates to canvas elected officials, regulators, and attorneys general."

honestly feel like I'm losing my fucking mind reading this shit. how does this make any fucking sense? you send an AI bot to a video meeting you're not attending where presumably other coworkers will also send their bots?????? to what fucking end? what is the point of this? why are we having NPCs video chat with eachother? what gets done with this? what is the purpose? how is this not just a fucking email? is this what jokerfication is? this doesn't make any fucking sense!

okay so some of you might have seen that Palmer Luckey has launched his own Gameboy clone, an FPGA console called the ModRetro Chromatic. you may remember another FPGA Gameboy, the Analogue Pocket, a console i own and greatly enjoy and endorse.

for those who dont know, Palmer Luckey (in increasing badness):

  • at one point worked for Facebook
  • donates vast sums of money to Trump
  • founded Anduril, a war drone company

that alone should be reason enough to never touch this thing.

unfortunately, the thing also includes an officially licensed Tetris game. so i wanted to provide some alternatives to people who were interested in playing a "modern" tetris on a portable device. dont even pirate the rom of it, play these instead.

  • first off, you dont need an FPGA like this or the Analogue Pocket, you can get a comfy emulator device for a sixth of the cost that supports more consoles. dont spend money you dont have.
  • the best gameboy tetris is the homebrew clone Apotris. it is by far the most extensive in feature set and i play it daily. i dont care for the default visual settings but the customization is incredible. https://akouzoukos.com/apotris
  • if you have a soft spot for the old gameboy tetris of yore, theres Rosy Retrospection, a mod that brings several modern conveniences while keeping the original spirit. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5813/
  • it also has a color version. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8259/

please do not give this monster money, and do not give his tetris the time of day. fan projects deserve your attention more than a warmonger's vanity project.

Also about three major problems with GNU/Linux distros that will drive away all professional artists, IMO, and how I got kicked out of the Fedora KDE ecosystem with F40, which imposed Plasma6 and Wayland. I hope it helps other artists here!

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.

Stealing everything you’ve ever typed or viewed on your own Windows PC is now possible with two lines of code — inside the Copilot+ Recall disaster.
