"Always connect to an external, low voltage power supply before opening a door when the vehicle has no power," Tesla says, "to avoid breaking a window."

How is this a real sentence?

Infoseepage,
@Infoseepage@mastodon.social avatar

@mekkaokereke Tesla has some AMAZINGLY unsafe engineering especially when it comes to having to get out in an emergency when you are without power. In most cases, the doors are electronically actuated, so if things have gone to shit, you're left with some extremely hacky ways to get out, particularly if you are in the back seats of most vehicles.

One model - no joke - requires you to remove a speaker grill to push on a particular piece of the door frame.

The IDF has killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers traveling in a convoy of three vehicles. World Central Kitchen aid workers are clearly identified by their clothing and their vehicles always contain highly visible large logos. This isn't imo a mistake. They were targeted.

This is a genocide by intentional starvation.

The seven killed are from Australia, Poland, UK, a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, and Palestine.

Tomorrow, I'm making phone calls to my federal representatives asking them to end our complicity in Israel's war crimes and end all arms shipments.

Today, US supplied arms likely killed a US citizen.

@mikewaghorne The US has ~600 rear cargo door heavy lift aircraft like C-130s & C-17s. We've never used more than 4 of them on a single day for the airdrop operation and never dropped more than 50,000 meals. We've never flown more than a single flight a day despite the airbase in Jordan being ~140 miles away.

We're also dropping MREs instead of Humanitarian Daily Rations, which is bad for a number of reasons.

We're sending Israel an endless stream of bombs and next to no food for Gaza.

Infoseepage,
@Infoseepage@mastodon.social avatar

When I say they plaster their name and logo on everything, I really do mean anything. Most of the air workers out in public have three articles of clothing identifying them as an aid worker front and back. They drap their trucks/ships with giant tarps and they make sure the logo is visible from all sides/angles. They even label individual meals so that it is clear that what they're carrying is food.

See this woman on the left? Her name is Lalzawmi "Zomi" Frankcom. She was killed today by an IDF airstrike on her convoy of clearly labeled vehicles. They'd just finished transferring more than a hundred tons of aid from World Central Kitchen's maritime relief effort, which I tooted about earlier today. Here last act was to bring almost as much food to staving Palestinians as the entire US airdrop effort.

Rafah has twice the population density of the Warsaw Ghetto at its peak during WWII and Israel is telling people to evacuate or its not their fault if they die. Actually it is, Rafah is right up against the Egyptian border and there's nowhere left in Gaza that hasn't been substantially bombed by Israel.

55% of the buildings in the whole of Gaza are damaged or destroyed.

This is genocide.

A veterinary epidemiologist named Andrew Bowman at Ohio State was impatient with the FDA and lack of data on the H5N1 outbreak, so he took a road trip and bought milk in 10 states. 58 of the 150 commercial milk products contained enough traces of viral RNA to light up a PCR test, which suggests the H5N1 outbreak is far more widespread than the US government is letting on.

    @DrALJONES Just a reminder to everyone - these false accusations resulted in countries cutting aid funding to one of the biggest organizations providing aid in Gaza.

    It is not far reaching to say that Israel manufactured evidence (through torture) to try to reduce aid going to feeding people in Gaza.

    So, basically World Central Kitchen worked with the IDF for weeks to ensure inspection of their cargo, arrive, offload and transport the first hundred tons to their warehouse and are promptly killed by the IDF. That is basically the timeline at this point.

    WCK appears to have ready to leave Cyprus with their ships loaded with food as early as the 16th. Then they just anamolously stopped for two weeks (indicative of a Israeli imposed obstacle).

    Infoseepage,
    @Infoseepage@mastodon.social avatar

    @w7voa Any journalist covering this needs to be asking real questions about this token effort.

    The Berlin airlift reached a peak daily delivery of 12,941 tons per day, with about 2/3 of the gross weight being fuel. That would work out to 4,270 tons of food per day to feed 2.5 million people. So, ~3,400 tons to feed Gaza daily? A single C130 can airlift ~21 tons per trip according to a brief search. They sent 3 of them.

    You'd need ~54 trips daily with three planes to actually feed Gaza.

    Watching Israel horrifically kill 45 people in a nothing-but-tents "safe zone" refugee camp and then say "well, there were these Hamas guys" and the US response is "Israel said there were some Hamas guys" is just breaking me today. This was a flat out war crime. There is a principal in international law that requires the least minimal action to achieve an objective. Dropping a giant bomb to kill a soldier while killing or injuring hundreds is not justified under international law.

    Biden is now in the position of unconditionally supporting a Israel regime which:

    1. Thought launching an airstrike against an Iranian embassy was a thing to do.
    2. Continues to limit supplies to North Gaza.
    3. Assassinated 7 clearly identified foreign aid workers on a highly coordinated aid mission.
    4. Destroyed a major hospital complex.
    5. Stands back and lets Settlers commit mob violence in the West Bank and blocks ambulances.
    6. Massacres hundreds of people attempting to get flour.

    @fkamiah17 Both the US and UK are transferring arms to Israel in ways which run contrary to their own laws. The US laws governing arms transfers explicitly say that they can't be made to nations which are blocking US humanitarian aid. It is incredibly clearly worded and direct and leaves no wiggle room for interpretation. 8 US Senators (7 from his own party) wrote President Biden a public letter to that effect, because the law requires that he be notified of violations. They've notified him.

    US Centcom already failed to acknowledge how its drops earlier this week along the beach zone in Gaza led to a number of deaths to drowning/chute entanglement and trampling.

    Now, it looks like they've maybe done it again, with 26 pallet loads dropping into the sea:

    This is by way of a reminder that the Humanitarian Daily Ration floats and can be individually dropped over sea and land without parachute or pallet. No entanglement risk. No risk of a thousand pounds strapped to a pallet going through a roof.

    Also, I'm back to eating nothing but HDRs to make people more aware of its existence and the fact that the US has millions of them. They're specifically made for this sort of challenging aid work environment and we're dropping MREs instead.
