NOW: Donald Trump has asked Judge Tanya Chutkan to dismiss his election subversion indictment in D.C. outright, arguing 'absolute presidential immunity' protects him from the allegations charged.

@Brandi_Buchman I guess he's just going to keep making this legal argument that already been proven invalid numerous times.
Another version of if you say something false enough times it will become true.
@GottaLaff Look at this thing. It's like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
No wonder business wants to make it so you can't sue for their dumb ass, poorly designed products.

This lie has now been ongoing for about 2 years. It seems retailers have discovered this lie as a cover for financial problems caused by poor management decisions, particularly in product mix. competition from online retailing (Amazon) and in some cases, debt.
PI picks up on one major clue that this is BS: "Target did not include any specifics on the level of theft at the closing stores or how that compares to stores that will remain open"
@qkslvrwolf
From PI: "Target is also closing one store in San Francisco, located at 1690 Folsom Street."
I was actually in this store in April. It appeared like it was being trashed from within with huge gaps in the merchandise on the shelves in numerous categories likely due to a failure to restock. Another SF store I visited was well stocked.The store itself was poorly maintained.
As a reporter I covered retailing for 6 years. You can tell when something is wrong. Theft wasn't the reason.
Today in Labor History October 5, 1789: The Women's March on Versailles put an end to royal authority. The October March was one of the earliest and most significant events of the French Revolution. The march began with a near riot at the Parisian markets over the high price and scarcity of bread. Encouraged by revolutionary agitators, thousands of women ransacked the armory, stole weapons and marched to the Palace of Versailles. The mob besieged the palace and forced King Louis XVI to give in to their demands. This marked the end the king's independence and authority, and the beginning of a new balance of power that favored the nation's common people, collectively termed the Third Estate.

From Heated:
Technically, that New York City flood was “mild”
If we want to understand the full picture of climate-fueled flood risk to New York City, we can’t just look at rainfall.
Scientists who study coastal flooding actually consider NYS’s flood to be “mild.” That’s because, while the rainfall itself was record-breaking—more than 8.65 inches fell at JFK airport—the coastal flood level was only two feet above high tide.
@Teri_Kanefield Any publicity is good publicity. Since he already lost this was just free media. And once again the media covered up for the fact that his mind is melting.
1.4 Million Wealthy Americans Are Evading Nearly $66 Billion in Federal Taxes
More than 1.4 million wealthy Americans have still not filed their taxes for 2017-20 years, with the total amount owed to the federal government reaching "a whopping $65.7 billion"—almost enough to fund a universal childcare program for one year or a universal school lunch program for more than two years. https://www.commondreams.org/news/rich-evade-taxes
@Teri_Kanefield A couple of days ago NPR interviewed exactly two people about the tRUmp trial. They must have been some kind of plants since both basically said a version of "he's businessman and fraud happens."
The trial is scheduled to last until the end of Dec but is expected to end sooner.
Trump arrived in the courtroom & strode past AG #LetitiaJames, seated in the first row, w/o making eye contact & immediately took a seat at the defense table.
While pool photographers took his picture at the defense table, looking solemn, in camera-ready way, Judge #Engoron looked amused.
@Nonilex Whenever he says something like "people say" or "people are saying" you know he's talking to his imaginary friend and no one is saying whatever he says they are saying.
Measles, mumps, rubella making a comeback thanks to #AntiVax movement and #VaccineHesitancy: Cases of deadly disease double in England as parents avoid jabs
@kcarruthers
The #AntiVax movement won't be happy until we have polio and smallpox back in circulation. But at least they will have saved their children from the vax so they can submit to God's will and natural selection by removing themselves from the gene pool.
@KevinCarson1
The alleged surge in "organized" shoplifting has been proven bogus a few times, yet retailer apparently see the PR value in repeating the lie. I guess they see it working for certain political party that enables a lying ex-president.
There are some really great things about Indiana. Bluegrass was invented there (NOT in Kentucky, that's a vicious lie), there are some great musicians of all genres. And most of the state is flat so except for the corn you can see 'em coming from a long way away.
Below: Corn on the left, soybeans on the right, a rural road in Indiana disappears into the horizon.
@realTuckFrumper
Didn't a certain person once say that pleading the 5th was the same as saying you're guilty?
Apparently he was 101% corrected. Maybe more.
The master of delusion. Fresh off his 4th arrest Trump holds his Michigan rally at a non-union auto parts manufacturer, Drake industries. I estimate less than 300 in attendance.
But he'll claim there was a huge crowd. It's all fake. Just like Trump's billions.
@skykiss It is to point where it should just be assumed that ANYTHING involving Comrade tRUmp, wholly owned subsidiary of Putin/Organ Inc, is riddled though sand thorough with fraud and lies.
A real surprise would be if he did something on the up-and-up. But there's very little danger of that happening.
2/2 John Dillinger’s criminal exploits played a significant role in the development of America's police state – namely the creation of Federal Bureau of Investigation.
J. Edgar Hoover, director of the Bureau of Investigation, used Dillinger as a rationale to turn the BOI into the FBI.
In 1933-34 Dillinger evaded police in four states. Wounded, he recovered at his father's Indiana home. He went to Chicago, sought refuge in a brothel. It’s owner betrayed him to the FBI who killed him 07 22, 1934
