Today's study that made me laugh a little: Locking people in a room for hours in a deliberative mini-public exercise to discuss and debate non-pharmaceutical interventions can improve alignment of epidemic management with public needs.

So, all we need to do to encourage better public health actions in an epidemic is to... expose people to a high-risk exercise during an epidemic?

I’ve spent the past few days driving across the country. The natural beauty of Arkansas and of Oklahoma surprised me. The aggressive, creepy white Christian evangelical vibe of western Tennessee did not surprise but it disturbed me. The Texas panhandle was as nuts as I anticipated. My son's cat (at his dad's house) died a year ago (I suspect due to daylily poisoning). But now he is ready to have another cat (at his dad's, can't have pets here). His school friend has a kitten in waiting for him, he's already named him Root Beer. ❤

@_L1vY_ I’m sure, and honestly I wouldn’t have known that day lilies were even harmful to cats. I tend to read things in clumps for clarity since a lot of words don’t assemble themselves properly for me, it’s just life as a dyslexic. You wouldn’t believe how some of the stuff I read looks on first pass. 😜

My brother and I were driving through this small decaying town called Barnett, Mo, and we passed this old mill that looked very old, and grown over. It was covered with cool old signage, and looked really interesting, but there were 5 older people sitting in front of it by a table, and a hand painted sign that says Toxic Club. So, we drive back around, because we had to know, so we pull in, and ask "What is the Toxic Club?", and they say they are just out there most days with coffee and donuts to make sure that people get something to eat, and drink and have someone to chat with. That doesn't sound toxic at all, it sounds lovely.

@jhavok Very cool! I loved stopping in small towns & just getting to know people. It doesn’t seem to matter what part of the world I’m in I get invited home or to a local wedding etc. LoL I stop in small cafes & yard sales & local businesses & just let them talk about their lives. My term for it before I read Blue Highways was “Walking into Steinbeck” Stopped & asked for directions to a B&B in Glasgow & the owner said, we couldn’t let you stay in a B&B & put us up for a week @RickiTarr
