It took many years and many professional bike fits for their extremely valuable #bikeFit tips to finally sink in. :blobfox0_0:
It took me following a hunch over several months to get to the general area where my saddle and handlebars should be for their tips to finally make sense and complete the picture in my mind. (My saddle was way too low for a long time because my first bike fitter was trying to work with my horrible technique early on, which caused me to tear a quad in one leg. :blobfoxscared: )
Is there a calculator to let people calculate actual cost per mile to drive a given car, accounting for actual purchase price, insurance, gas prices, parking costs, and length of time one has owned car? Trying to see just how much I’m saving with an ebike. #bike#cycling#biketooter#ebike#seabikes#cars@TheWarOnCars@seabikeblog
First #gravel ride back out last night with a mate who broke his femur coming off on an icy patch while #cycling back in January. We kept him in one piece. 😅
Just got back from the Davis Ride of Silence, which was organized by the Davis Bike Collective.
The organizers reached out to relatives of those killed, so at two of the sites, we met friends & family of people killed by drivers while riding their bikes in Davis.
This is the ghost bike for Dr. Marilyn Olmstead and her friends & family were there with us along County Road 100A, next to a farm field.
This is an interesting article on road.cc about the issues around the #cycling industry and nosediving profits.
It mentions "In very basic terms, pandemic = bike boom, bike boom = brands purchasing more stock to meet demand, pandemic ends and demand drops = less buyers for said stock, less buyers = stock sitting on shelves unsold. In short, not good."
But I would add this would not be an issue if... 1/2

Today’s opening of the Conejo Canyons bridge in Hill Canyon is excellent news for hikers, cyclists, and public safety. Hikers and cyclists will no longer have to share the single-lane road with trucks entering/leaving the Hill Canyon wastewater treatment plant.
And because the bridge connects Hill Canyon with the Western Plateau in Newbury Park, first responders and public works employees no longer will have to travel out of town via the Camarillo grade to reach either end of the Conejo Canyons.
We are incredibly fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. Hope you get out and enjoy it!
Deshalb führte meine heutige Fahrt wieder e ...
Near Ouarzazate, me and @cobic have just met Czech cyclist Mirek and Slovenian cyclist Katya, who travel all around the world on their bicycles and live on the road and work as artists. I have introduced them to Mastodon and they are now @Cyclingnomads on our #fcz instance...
So if you want Cycling Nomads in Fediverse instead of just on Facebook, don't hesitate and follow @Cyclingnomads !
Tuesday:
122 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
20 minutes of HIIT
30 minutes of strength training
24km of #Cycling (14°C)
Very different today; both the HIIT and strength training felt easier/fun, and the ride was pretty good — and then it started to rain. 🤣 Honestly, it wasn't that bad, I don't mind getting wet. It certainly felt windier than the forecast indicated. 🤷🏻
