The work these workers do is very skilled. I’ve seen footage from UFW on what it takes to harvest the various crops. These are skilled labourers. They are far more valuable to US all than Be-Zos, Eloon & Zuck and yet their lives are hellish. The World really is up side down!

The Red states & women’s health care give a glimpse of this hate.. I’ve been warning people about what was coming since at least the 1980’s & the Hyde Amendment. When SCOTUS gave the ‘00 sElection to Bush I started using the ‘F’ word: Fascism. People ignored me. The palpable Darkness of the present moment weights upon my chest. I stand in solidarity with all against the oncoming Fascist darkness of hate, cruelty and death.

I understand the way you feel about the chocolate. I’ve been using commodities program all year; I too once had money, was ‘middle class’ & how delighted I was they included a cake in Dec. commodities. This month it’s mostly potatoes and nuts. I did get 2 dz eggs a and 8 grapefruits too. And a sack of 60 lbs of potatoes, 11 lbs. of walnuts, 6 lbs of almonds & 4 lbs of raisins.if I didn’t have dried beans left over from before I’d be living on trail mix .

I’m not following this very closely but since 45**91 injected his extremely toxic masculinity mind-set, this ‘I’m ignoring your authority’ move by Hunter is almost the same ‘Big D*^k’ move they keep making as the GQP. And since Boebert/MTG (?) flashed the proof to all, I think the stakes have been raised, metaphorically speaking. I legitimately don't understand pride in where you were born or where you live. You had nothing to do with it, and probably your parents didn't either, most people move for economic reasons. At best, I guess, it makes sports more interesting, and at worst, it leads to genocide. If some places seem better than others the reason is usually money, better infrastructure, better schools, which is a whole other rant. Nothing wrong with enjoying the place you are, but feeling superiority about it, is just cringe.

I am lucky to have known where and finally came to ‘the place of my heart.’ Some people have told me what an awful place it is and for many, where I now reside, and am currently snowed in, my ‘home on the range’ is ridiculously inconvenient, and for many alarmingly isolated. To me: Paradise.

Made a trip back to the US for the first time in a couple of years. A few things that stand out:

  • there are so many fucking ads everywhere

  • infrastructure is crumbling everywhere I look

  • cops cops cops cops cops. I saw more cops within a few hours of getting back to the states than I’ve seen in a few years of living abroad. Americans generally have no idea how hyper-policed they are.

#joinin. The hardest part of Xmas is done: Cooking and washing up. I can enjoy the fire & write in my journal, lot’s of catching up to do. I let Auriel MurderPaws out of the pantry again but she insists on ‘presenting’ non my table, where I have a candle burning,. I’ve thrown her off 5 times in 5’. She may be spending the rest of the evening shut in the pantry. Poor thing, it’s hard on both of us. I need to get 2 of my teeth attended to first tho.

I had meant to put on some tranquilizing CDs but I got so busy I forgot. When it’s an ordinary meal, I usually read or go on the net. I’ve been alone for a long time and usually my meals are ‘one pot’ dinners of black beans, chili, onions, salsa & topped with a bit of Greek yogurt.

Yes, I disconnected almost completely as I have no radio or TV here, only internet,And, hopefully, still DVDs. I just discovered that my CD player no longer works & replacing it is not in my budget.,
