that now joining NATO of course WILL cause there to be more attacks and more sabotage and generally decreased security. Now that it's too late, they start saying what the conflict deescalation experts said from the start.

In school history was taught with specific dates. For example, WWII started on September 1st, 1939 with Hitler's invasion of Poland.
Of course, in September 1939 no one thought they were involved in a "World War" or even a total war. War kept growing and creeping.
