The Home button and Panel button are back on Android!
After the release of Vivaldi 6.6 on Android we got to see first-hand how much you care about your browser. You raised your voice and shared your opinion with good reason.
We made a mistake.
You made it clear to us that the removal of the Home and Panel buttons, for those with the address bar at the bottom of your screen, was not something you wanted.
That's why, as of today, both buttons are back.
Our mission is to build a browser that adapts to you, and to do this we rely on feedback from everyone who uses our products.
UPDATE: from Maja who’s been locked in a Dresden prison for 3mos. Maja was arrested in connection with the German investigations where she fought off neo-nazis at the “Day of Honor” event in Budapest in 2023. we must clearly prevent an extradition to Hungary, an authoritarian state that supports neo-Nazis.

Gestern kam bei mir das Update für KDE Plasma 6.0 Ich war bisher immer auf X11 unterwegs und hab mir heute gedacht, dass es tatsächlich einmal an der Zeit wäre Wayland auszuprobieren. Zumal es offenbar Fehler gibt, die mir bisher nur unter X11 aufgefallen sind. Gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut, was ich da im Moment sehe. Läuft alles schön flüssig.
Mal ein herzliches Danke an die Entwickler:innen, die an den zahlreichen Komponenten von Linux arbeiten.

🌎 Experience faster translations with Vivaldi Translate, our reliable and private translation service that currently supports 108 languages. You’ll also notice improvements in the quality of translation for some key languages.
🧩 Web Panels—web pages that you can add to your side panel—will now work more like a regular tab with extended extension capabilities and page navigation.
Extension developers can now extend the functionality of Vivaldi by adding entire new Panels using the Side Panel extension API.
👋🏼 Say hello to Dark Mode. Love Dark mode but the website doesn’t support it? Vivaldi will now automatically generate a dark theme by adapting any website's color scheme.

Big one for me, this. Without the extra protection and conveniences afforded by extensions (entering passwords, etc) this feature was useless for me. This opens it up for possible use again. 👍👍
🔹Get an Instant overview of website permissions
...Instead of scrolling through a cramped pop up or diving into deep settings. Nice. 👍
🔹Faster Translations with Vivaldi Translate
To be tested, but very welcome if they've sorted the Automatic Detection out that routinely fails to recognise commonly spoken languages. A BIG plus for this service over rivals is that there's no user-tracking whatsoever, and no third parties involved. (Tentative 👍)
🔹Dark Mode? Set your preferred website colour theme
Potentially huge if I can ditch The Dark Reader extension I keep fighting with. (Tentative 👍👍)
🔹Find your messages with an Improved Mail Search
Lol, I wasn't unable to find my emails before, they've done themselves a disservice here with their wording, but I definitely appreciate finer-grained and more accurate results. 👍
🔹Migrate your data of Notes and Reading list
And last but by no means most...nice to have but I can't see an obvious use case for it. 🤏
The Play Store has started notifying app updates for apps installed with F-Droid, and as expected, they cannot be updated. However, the Play Store still shows those failed updates. Does anyone know why this might be happening? #android#fdroid#playstore#update
