I find it funny that Marjorie Taylor Greene has an identity as a sort of "white-centric", quite far right US conservative when it's pretty obvious that she has a significant amount of Native American ancestry, which can be seen just by looking at her face (ignore the blonde dyed hair, makeup, etc.).

Meet my sister’s new nemoshés (#puppy)! His name is Mishkweze (“Mishko” for short). He enjoys long romps through the grass and annoying the heck out of his older #Husky siblings. He is the goodest boy, and I love him. I also love that the sis won the battle in naming him, so he is officially a #Native#dog.
I keep thinking about a recent article in Nature by Talhelm and Dong that appears to confirm the theory that the staple crops (in this case wheat versus rice) can influence collectivistic cultural tendencies.
In particular, it makes me wonder how the #milpa impacted Indigenous North American cultures. A milpa is a #Native agroecological system largely centered around growing corn, beans and squash in the same field. It is intense, highly productive and also provides a complete and healthy diet in a very small amount of land.
I suspect that milpas lead to even more individualistic tendencies, which could explain the large linguistic and cultural diversity of North America and how it led to dense urban societies so quickly.
Death Valley is alive this year. A #super#bloom is the latest sign.
In California’s Death Valley region, the last few months have been remarkably loud.
And the latest bellow is still ringing out, with the area’s #native#wildflowers bursting into bloom.
The flowers have filled a place best known for its shades of browns and grays with brilliant blasts of yellow and purple and sprinkles of pink and cream.
This display comes just weeks after the 🔹resurrection of a long-dead lake,🔹 which filled the park’s Badwater Basin and drew visitors from across the country for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to paddle across a body of water rarely revived since prehistoric days.
These fleeting phenomena can both be traced to the unusual and record-setting precipitation that has inundated the state since August, when Hurricane Hilary gave Death Valley its #wettest#day ever.
Subsequent storms dumped even more rain on the desert, eventually 🌟dragging it out of a years-long #megadrought.🌟
