sudo dnf up
then sudo dnf system-upgrade download releasever=40
(you can also do 39 if you'd prefer)
then finally sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot
then wait and you're done!
🚀 I just published a short guide explaining how to upgrade PostgreSQL 🐘 from version 15 to 16 just after an upgrade to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat) 🦘
Addresses in a Craft Commerce 4 migration... wow these need better docs. Support ended up having me pull up the example template for the demo site and that finally helped.
Docs had bits n' pieces in different places and it's a where's Wally of frustrating. The template had a more complete picture of what needed to go into a frontend form.
Will be writing a blog post guide for future updates, it's not terrible if you have top level info and some syntax guidance.
Just rebooted and I’m up and running with Fedora Silverblue 40.
(Just tried reinstalling mozilla-openh264 – so videos work in Firefox – but it failed with the same error. Not a big deal, I’m using @Vivaldi as my main browser these days anyway and I guess the Fedora folks will fix this in time.)
More importantly, I wonder if the screen reader has been fixed yet. (Yes, Fedora ships with a broken screen reader.)
Finally: In the next few days you will receive a notification on your device with TUXEDO OS, that your system is ready for the upgrade to TUXEDO OS with Plasma 6.
Mastodon is running on Ubuntu 20.04. Would like to upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04.
My question to the administrators in the Fediversum: Is this a simple process or are there any known issues with this upgrade that need special attention? I would be very grateful for any information. Thanks.
⬇️ This is a nice write-up about using SQLite in production, with pitfalls and open questions.
😓 I cringe whenever I see some Django/Python luminary recommending people use SQLite in production. I don’t care how good you are, you won’t get it right even if you think you did. Then, someone will read your advice and contact @djangonews to ask why their production database disappears every time they deploy their website or unexpectedly. https://fosstodon.org/@anze3db/111765707787892711
I'm upgrading an HP EliteBook 745 G6 laptop for a customer who is purchasing it from me.
I took out the 512GB SSD and replaced it with a 1TB nvme SSD. Took out the two 8GB memory modules and replaced them with two 16GB modules for 32GB. Of that, the AMD GPU reserves 2GB and has shared memory of 15GB. So the GPU has plenty of memory available to it for a little laptop.
The processor is a Ryzen 7 Pro 3700U
I've been selling more of these HP EliteBook laptops with Ryzen processors. I hope to put one to more testing, but selling them almost as fast as I get them in.
I think an ideal model for me to test is the 13 inch version of this model, the EliteBook 735 G6, as I think the 13 inch size is ideal for how I use a laptop (currently using a ThinkPad T470s and the 14 inch screen is just a bit too large for comfort with how I carry a laptop around).
Can any OpenBSD person help me with this error? I am trying to install OpenBSD 7.4 and it always fails to install the bootloader. I could install OpenBSD 7.3 (when it was released) but now I can't install 7.4. Should I email misc@? I'd appreciate if somebody could help me.
