13th M-net company run in Augsburg

We were there again this year with some colleagues and successfully completed the 5.3 km course. Georg represented us superbly with a time of 21:38! 🥇

However, all the runners who make the M-net company run a special event every year deserve special recognition. We are already looking forward to next year! 🙂

Natürlich lassen wir uns diese spannende Alternative nicht entgehen. Wir haben bereits Prototypen im Test, können aber derzeit nicht sagen, ob noch in diesem Jahr das erste ARM-Notebook mit TUXEDO Logo erscheinen wird.

Die Situation unter Linux ist nach wie vor schwierig. Wir beobachten das auch stetig und wissen daher, dass die zu investierende Zeit und Arbeit wenig Erfolg versprechend ist, solange die Komponentenhersteller nicht wirklich mitziehen. Sollte sich hieran etwas ändern, greifen wir das Thema natürlich auch gerne wieder auf.

Actually, we have been talking about this for a while. We really want a solid backup/restore solution in TUXEDO OS. If it will be Timeshift is not decided yet clear, but it for sure is one contender.

Testet ihr eigentlich euer #OS3 bevor es veröffentlicht wird.
Nachdem das Update nicht richtig läuft hab ich es neu aufgesetzt.

Die Updates mit discover laufen nicht ... Geht nur über die Konsole.
Auch Krusader der Dateimanager funktioniert überhaupt nicht mehr.

So ist das für mich nicht nutzbar ... Schade für die Mühe.

Testest du das unter Wayland? Kannst du mal journalctl -r laufen lassen, nachdem du Krusader gestartet hast und nach Auffälligkeiten schauen?

First, thanks for the upgrade to Tuxedo OS 3, you are doing a great job as always.❤️

Could you perhaps do a tutorial on Plasma 6 and HDR? After updating to Tuxedo OS3, I was initially puzzled as to where the HDR function was until I swapped my DP cable for HDMI. Then the option was there. But I still don't understand the options. When activated, is HDR always on and what does that mean? Do e.g. Steam, Lutris or VLC use HDR for games and movies automatically?

Since KDE6/Wayland I can no longer use my 4K extermal screen: when plugging in the DP cable the monitor is displayed in the display settings for a few seconds, then the internal screen flickers for a bit (going black), and the 4K monitor disappeared again from the settings. This whole things happens every 10 seconds.

Is this maybe a known issue?

Sorry for the late answer, I was on vacation. You can delete ~/.local/share/kscreen to get rid of the old configuration. It might help. If it does, please let us know.

TUXEDO OS with Plasma 6 - Configuration of the control panel

The panel has been given a new, clearer editing mode, which makes it much easier to set up. You open the editing mode from the context menu (right mouse button) by selecting Start editing mode.

Der Unterbau ist und bleibt vorerst Ubuntu, das vermutlich noch im Mai auf 24.04 hochgezogern wird. TUXEDO OS 3 ist ein partielles Rolling Release, bei dem wir bestimmte Pakete aktueller halten als Ubuntu. Dabei handelt es sich hauptsächlich um Browser und den Kernel und den Grafik-Stack sowie Anwendungen wie etwa PipeWire.

The current InfinityBook isEOL (end of life). In a similar form factor (very thin, but slightly heavier (IBP was also extremely light!)), the Stellaris Slim 15 with AMD or Intel will be released in the next 2 weeks.

The update to Plasma 6 and to 24.02 are 2 different updates. The one to 24.04 will probably happen sometime in May.
