For a few weeks now, I've been using VidHub as a video player on my iPad and MacBook.
I was actually looking for an alternative to Infuse; I thought its yearly subscription was unnecessarily expensive. While browsing, I came across this app:
So, if you have the #Apple Pro Video Codecs are installed on your Mac, the integrated video player in #NeoFinder can play Sony MXF video files! Pretty cool!
It's insane thinking about how #iPhone has nailed touch scrolling right out of the bat from the first phone, and #Android phones still have not figured out how to do it right. Not just on touchscreens but on trackpads too, only #Apple has managed making something as "simple" as touch scrolling as intuitive, magical, and true to life (instant response, the exact amount of weight and inertia as you'd expect from what you just did with your finger) SYSTEM WIDE (and not app-dependent) while #Windows laptops still makes you feel like you're better off with a mouse. I use an Apple Magic Trackpad on my #Linux PC and it feels great and was one of the best investments I've made, but it will never be as good as it'd be on #macOS and that feels like a crime. Since no one has figured it out, I unjokingly wish the EU or CCP make it compulsory for Apple to teach everyone else in the industry how to implement this seemingly simple thing, so right.

This article demonstrates how to use the system service ‘launchd‘ on a Mac to run Apple Shortcuts regularly and automatically.
Today I learned that, contrary to my belief, there is Cut and Paste for files in macOS, not just Copy and Paste… and has been available since Mac OS X Lion!
There are just two steps after selecting the files to be moved, and the trick is on the second one:
Press Command-C to get the source of the files
Press Command-Option-V to paste the documents in the new location, and cutting them from the previous location.
The update to #macOS 14.5 "Sonoma" has been as unpleasant as expected.
After downloading many gigabytes, macOS got stuck for more than HALF AN HOUR, doing some undisclosed "Preparing".
This is just BS, I checked what happened, and a secret Apple tool named "UpdateBrainService" was slowly crunching away with a lousy 99% CPU. And that on one of the fastest Macs ever been built.
And now, the Mac is crippled by dozens of "mdworker_shared" processes, because for EVERY SINGLE macOS update, as small as it is, Spotlight needs to reindex ALL DATA, slowing down macOS for many more hours.
Tim, you should be ashamed, really.
And now the real fun begins, because in the next days, we need to find out what NEW bugs Apple has added to macOS 14.5.
