with Xcode 14 I could hit ⌘⌥C, immediately type a commit message, then hit ⌘-return to complete the commit. git and I were both happy doing commits quickly.
with Xcode 15 I apparently have to first mouse click into the spot for the commit message... then I have do another mouse click on the Commit button.
Is there a way to set this back to the previous behavior?
Does anyone know of a tool that analyses Xcode projects and then provides me with statistics on lines of code etc.? In any case, it should also take into account Swift packages used.
@stroughtonsmith do you have an old physical Mac with old versions of Xcode running to go back that far? Is it possible to compile for iOS 7 from an M3 Mac? #curious#xcode
Did you know that cleaning the build folder does not remove files in the derived data directory?
Why‘s that important, you ask? Because the auto generated asset symbols are generated there. So if you want to get that concurrency warning fixed, you have to manually delete it from derived data then rebuild. (Or add an asset that forces recreation.)
Heads-up, #iOS/ #macOS devs: if you get failed builds due to a "Command CompileAssetCatalog failed with a nonzero exit code” error in #Xcode 15.3, it's probably one of the SVGs in your asset catalog. The SVG likely uses <feGaussianBlur/>, making Xcode throw a tantrum
Well. You know how I complain how slow XCode is? Android Studio is just as slow. It has something that goes through “Gradle project sync” on launch every time and takes as long as XCode’s “Preparing device”. I’m liking Python and its ilk more and more… Get more done.
My SwiftUI previews for Please Don’t Rain stopped working and I couldn’t figure out why. I finally filed a TSI asking for help.
I have my answer.
They broke because I have an apostrophe in my app name. 😭
In order to get them working again now they are suggesting I do a “pretty thorough rename” throughout the app. My concern about breaking something else (and the time it would take to fix) is greatly overwhelming my desire to use previews that haven’t worked for months.
