FYI - I worked on 2 different #RealityTV shows in #Canada & after those lived work experiences - told everyone I could - don't agree to go on these shows. It's almost all scripted, not reality. Crews are forced to put pressure on voluntary participants - who rarely know WTF they're signing up for & producers exploit naivety. Don't chase easy fame/easy money - they both come at high personal costs. Don't agree to be traumatized on TV, for money. You'll regret it.
Tried watching the American version of #FarmerWantsAWife and there were 2 God mentions and 1 hunting mention in the first 15 minutes so I think I'll go back to the Aussie version 😐 #RealityTV
I started watching it as a filler between two seasons of Survivor (the best TV game show ever) and wow... It started a bit slow, but once it gets its stride... Oh boy...
Imagine. It's like a giant game of mafia/werewolves taking place in a Scottish castle and it's hosted by Alan Cumming who is the most over-the-toppish fabously host on TV ever.
Seriously, if you like social games, Alan Cumming, Scotland, reality TV (but the good one, the competitive one, not the fabricated drama one) watch this show.
Thank you @realityblurred for making me watch. I'm up to date with Season 2, and these past two episodes were on the same level as the best episodes of Survivor.
But even though potential harm from reality policing is neither abstract nor unlikely—a new study from a [#Harvard#PublicPolicy#researcher found that #LivePD cameras increase arrests for low-level “quality-of-life” offenses that ended up targeting lower-income communities by nearly 20 percent—they receive a fraction of the attention from #copaganda critics as scripted #police TV. ]
Reality TV is watched by tens of millions of people around the world — but how "real" should it be? USA Today spoke to experts including @realityblurred about what audiences are owed by cast members, and how much privacy they're entitled to — for example, around new relationships or serious health situations. What do you think?
Marcy Wheeler says Trump's going to lose his NY trial, and she knows that because the judge has already ruled against him! But despite that fact — despite reality — he will still play his reality TV role "to create a reality in which he will have correctly predicted a loss that was baked in last week." And his gullible followers will flock right after him, claiming that he has prophetic insights and the media lie to us.
Parenting influencer Ruby Franke was recently arrested on felony abuse charges, and she's just the latest in a long line of YouTubers, Instagrammers and reality stars to be accused of harming and exploiting their children. This @Flipboard Storyboard looks at some high-profile cases and how the laws are evolving to protect kids.
It's always great when editors get to admit in public how much fakery exists in reality television. This interview is about the overreacting and often out-of-context audience in "The Masked Singer."

Wow. Watching this and for fans of Love Is Blind & Reality TV the sets sounds just horrendous.Completely abusive conditions. And it looks like Netflix committed tax fraud around this as well. https://youtu.be/DaMOpPBNqbs
The all-conquering #realityTV format; competitors do tasks each week, one wins (happy face), one leaves the show (sad face);
from the new wedding planning show, to the established #pottery throw-down, from the now (I think cancelled) dog grooming to the frankly weird #makeup series; from the long established Aprentice, to any number of #baking & #cooking shows.... and the great woodworking one.
my only Q. is: is there any professional (or amateur) activity the format cannot be applied to?
We're thrilled to be interviewing Gilles De Coster, host/showrunner of De Mol, our favorite Belgian reality game show that longtime listeners will recognize.

It’s so tragic that TV channels that used to teach you things (HGTV, cooking, science) all turned into reality TV. It’s all so empty and meaningless now :/
