Kinda late to this but my current #RealityTV obsession is #LoveAfterDivorce on Netflix. So wholesome and refreshing to see people with regular jobs not all influencers/models! Also the screen captions make me laugh like GLANCE 👀
Tried watching the American version of #FarmerWantsAWife and there were 2 God mentions and 1 hunting mention in the first 15 minutes so I think I'll go back to the Aussie version 😐 #RealityTV
I'm really enjoying #FarmerWantsAWife so far. I'm watching S 12 of the Australian version and the way this farmer is fretting over having kissed two (2!) girls is cute after watching #LoveIsland, #TheBachelor etc. I just like wholesome #RealityTV 😍
@finnbar_m I have very mixed feelings about the show “Love on the Spectrum.” I love that we get more visibility. I wonder though about the prejudice and stereotypes it may reinforce, based on staff selection of cast members and editing. I also wonder how cast members feel the camera and editing affects their experience and the dating situation.
I started watching it as a filler between two seasons of Survivor (the best TV game show ever) and wow... It started a bit slow, but once it gets its stride... Oh boy...
Imagine. It's like a giant game of mafia/werewolves taking place in a Scottish castle and it's hosted by Alan Cumming who is the most over-the-toppish fabously host on TV ever.
Seriously, if you like social games, Alan Cumming, Scotland, reality TV (but the good one, the competitive one, not the fabricated drama one) watch this show.
Thank you @realityblurred for making me watch. I'm up to date with Season 2, and these past two episodes were on the same level as the best episodes of Survivor.
But even though potential harm from reality policing is neither abstract nor unlikely—a new study from a [#Harvard#PublicPolicy#researcher found that #LivePD cameras increase arrests for low-level “quality-of-life” offenses that ended up targeting lower-income communities by nearly 20 percent—they receive a fraction of the attention from #copaganda critics as scripted #police TV. ]
Tom Nichols gets it 90% right in his latest @TheAtlantic post: If democracy dies in the next several years, he says, blame Trump, his democracy-loathing cabal, the Republicans in general, and feckless voters who miss what's at stake.
But while he mentions the press, he doesn't assign nearly enough responsibility to its cowardice and willful refusal to a) recognize what's at stake and b) actively fight to save our system.
Reality TV is watched by tens of millions of people around the world — but how "real" should it be? USA Today spoke to experts including @realityblurred about what audiences are owed by cast members, and how much privacy they're entitled to — for example, around new relationships or serious health situations. What do you think?
Americans recently discovered the X-rated British reality show Naked Attraction, and the dating show has caused a fuss across the pond for its full-frontal nudity and outrageous premise.

Marcy Wheeler says Trump's going to lose his NY trial, and she knows that because the judge has already ruled against him! But despite that fact — despite reality — he will still play his reality TV role "to create a reality in which he will have correctly predicted a loss that was baked in last week." And his gullible followers will flock right after him, claiming that he has prophetic insights and the media lie to us.
"The final tip of the casting trifecta is finding players who are simply good at… talking. 'You have to be able to tell a story,' says Probst. 'Because we task the players with a giant responsibility. They are the narrators for their season.'"
Parenting influencer Ruby Franke was recently arrested on felony abuse charges, and she's just the latest in a long line of YouTubers, Instagrammers and reality stars to be accused of harming and exploiting their children.
