Fingers of Light
Nova Scotia skies often delight and sometimes astonish me, like this one did. The valley landscape with the low, understated mountains in the distance are the perfect foil to this drama. Have a lovely week ahead, friends. You can view the post here:

On my way out to go to the tank farm (gas station for you who don’t live in the Arctic) and something stopped me in my tracks.

This was one of the first images I posted when I joined Mastodon last year and it seems appropriate for today's Autumn Equinox.

My husband headed up on the to photograph the fog rolling in at sunset.
The sheep have a fabulous view up there.

Taken a few hours ago.

Many yachts have completed , others will be out on the water for a while longer yet.

My husband has now got hundreds of shots to go through. It was tricky today as waiting for the light to hit and some yachts to be in a pleasing position took a great deal of time. Far easier when you can plan a shot, rather than having to go with whatever the weather and the occasion throws at you!

We had wonderfully clear skies at on the last night, so my husband headed out to photograph the

The Island is a great place for photography as we have little light pollution over the majority of the land and seacape.

on the at sunset a couple of evenings ago.

I've justed posted it on our business page on Facebook with some trepidation. The amount of scam messages we're getting now is ridiculous. 14 of them yesterday alone.
That's why I prefer being here, just as me.
No suggested posts for a cheesecake offer in a Miami cafe either - how does that work when I'm vegan and never even been to America, let alone Miami 😅

Been waiting for months to do today's hike: The ridge between Pürschling & Hennenkopf, 17km, 1160 elevation meters... Perfect weather, the air filled with the strong scent of fir & pine trees, early autumn light, grand views all around, very steep & super varied terrain!

Sunset Geometry
Happy Thursday! Who liked geometry at school? Actually, I did. This is full of just the sort of lines and shapes that I grew to love in those classes. A sunset picked these elements out perfectly, at the same time putting a rosie glow on the school - a colour I don't imagine many kids asssociate with school.I hope this brings back some good memories of fun times.

Seizing the last day and light before the temperature drops for real…

Just before the last light of the day vanishes into the night. A portrait format image so definitely needs a click if you want to have a look :)

Glacier Peak Backpacking: Day 1

The first photo is the view from near my camp on Cloudy Pass. Today has been incredible but tough. Hiked 20 miles with 6400’ elevation gain. This is not like the PCT, it’s rough trails that go straight up for hours. But i’m so happy, I wanted an epic long weekend and Glacier Peak Wilderness is providing that in spades so far.

Glacier Peak behind sparse tall trees. It’s a large rocky mountain with several glaciers on the top half. Blue sky.
Rocky mountain with jagged ridges Light blue sky with small white clouds.
Trail through a forest of tall trees with brush on the sides of the trail.

If you saw my post with the stamp of the rock form known as “The Pants”, here is a photo of a Polar Bear dwarfed by it, seen through its legs. I had the wrong lens on and couldn’t get a photo of the entire formation and bear.
