He told LBC the policy was subject to #labour fiscal rules*, but highlighted the party's aim of generating all electricity without using fossil fuels by 2030, saying he was "absolutely committed" to this target
For supporters of a #hydrogen#transport economy, its all looking a bit like the Betamax/VHS choice in the 1980s (for this of you old enough to recall the river video system);
A small but significant global movement is seeking to make #publictransport free to use as a central plank to #green urbanism.
as the Guardian point out:
'Flourishing & accessible public transport systems are an essential feature of sustainable 21st-century living. They are a means of social inclusion & wellbeing, helping to generate a sense of place and collective belonging'!
Being free from fares can be a big part of this... but in the UK we're wedded to an altogether different model!
Ok. Have now recovered. The lesson in this is: with very low turnout, very close results, and all three progressive parties standing against each other, #Tories can still win seats. (If those 893 #Green had gone to #Labour, Tories would have lost).
I am a Green Party member and REALLY dislike Starmer’s Labour but given where we are at, #FPTP and 13 years of Tory ruin, surely #tacticalvoting is key
Check out this long-haul transport truck that traveled 1,000 km on a single fill of liquid hydrogen.
Nice to see that green hydrogen was used here. It sounds like the bottleneck to making fuel-cell trucks more mainstream in the long-haul industry is the lack of availability of green hydrogen. There have been a bunch of stories lately about green hydrogen plants starting up – I wonder if/how the industry will grow to meet demand?
I'm not splitting hairs here, pollution is #pollution, but I don't think the threat of an #EV car purchase surge, REPLACING fossil fuel powered cars on the road, is the root of the problem here. Howbeit, it does knock their "#green" status if old, polluting tire #technology is still used. #Climate
Reuters, "Tire-makers are under pressure to almost literally reinvent the wheel as regulators turn their scrutiny to tire pollution that is set to surge with the rise of electric vehicles (EVs)"
Over the weekend #KeirStarmer abandoned plans to abolish the House of Lords, and now will merely seek some 'reforms' in the first Parliament of a Labour administration.
I assume that the increasingly narrow, substance-free #election manifesto is part of the remnants of any #green policy.
Its thinness is going to saving them a fortune in printing & paper!
No, you can't save £30 per year by switching off your "standby" devices
Every few years, a dodgy stat does the rounds claiming you can save £££ if you switch off all your gadgets at the wall. The standby mode of your TV is bleeding you dry!!!
The #green future of #transport must include a major role for railways..... but rather the #Tories are focussing on 'financial sustainability' to force through more cuts & 'efficiency gains' on the #railways.
Rather than trying to expand passenger numbers by improving service levels & reducing ticket prices, we now see a Govt. telling the railways they must cut back because off declining revenues caused by lower passenger numbers.
NO! the point is to reverse this decline not cut back more!
The key to renewable energy (whcih by its nature can be erratically supplied) is storage.
But, the Govt. thinks storage is not enough & still advocates for gas turbines to cover gaps in renewable energy provision.
However, pumped hydro (using gravity, to release water previously pumped up hill during surplus energy periods) is one of the most efficient storage technologies (& is clean), and once built cheap to maintain.

Me & my hiking friend saw only one other person out in the rains & trails, yesterday. Once you go deeper into the forest, the rain doesn't fall through the trees' canopy as much. The air smelled so good!
While true, this commonplace #Green thinking ignores the needs of the many handicapped or frail elderly people or stressed-out parents with several younger kids who already feel guilty about spending too little time with their family.
Using public transport in off-peak times often doubles or triples travelling times + involves quite some walking.
Furthermore, in rural areas, #PublicTransport is mostly too rare and often too expensive due to low population density.
This is one of my favorite shots from a recent photo shoot. In the center at the end is the Starorobocinski Wierch, the highest peak in the Western Tatras in Poland.

U.S. scientists have achieved net energy gain in a fusion reaction for the second time since December, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory said on Sunday.
“Rainforests in the UK are part of the Coastal Temperate Rainforest biome. This habitat is globally rare and some say is more threatened than tropical rainforest. Ideal conditions for temperate rainforest are found along the UK's western seaboard, including the west coast of Scotland.”
The richness of lichens in these parts of the UK is partly because the western extremities of the country have been least affected by air pollution.
