I just stumbled onto something horrifying, neo-Nazi symbolism seemingly hidden away in #Unicode. The first Unicode #Hebrew codepoint, corresponding to א, is u05D0. The integer corresponding to the hex? 1488. You can't convince me that was a mere coincidence.
A quick reminder to all that if you say "I support Jews but not Zionists", this is still a form of antisemitism, because:
Being against "Zionism" means you are against the existence of the state of Israel, and being for its destruction means the death or forced expulsion of 7 million Jews
It's part of the "Good Jews/Bad Jews" trope
That being against >80% of any group is ultimately indistinguishable from hate for that group.
Throughout this article, Michael Gove conflates anti-zionism with antisemitism and implies that all Jews are zionists and/or pro Israel.
It's the first shot in a new culture war, by using Jewish people to ban organisations fighting for the rights of Palestinians.
Gove himself is cynically weaponising antisemitism.

The US Senate is expected to vote soon on the Antisemitism Awareness Act.

@DropBear@serge There is so much wrong with your post that it would take forever to properly unpack... Primarily you are tokenizing Jews via one of the most fringe sects out there. Secondly, you fundamentally do not understand what Zionism is.
Until your post popped up in my feed, I'd never heard of Babka @serge
You're evidently confused.
You're evidently also confused about what constitutes antisemitism. If you're trying to use the IHRA Definition, that's understandable:
"...the IHRA Definition is unclear in key respects and widely open to different interpretations, it has caused confusion and generated controversy, hence weakening the fight against antisemitism."
Thought crime fascism and persecution of academics are resplendent in "free speech" US, with famed historian Ilan Pappe detained and grilled at Detroit Airport. He's not the "right" kind of Jew for the US fash. #Fascism#Antisemitism#StopArmingIsrael#ZionismIsWhiteSupremacism
The US media vilifies liberal universities as if they were the bastions of antisemitism. But these universities are the safest places for Jews only second to synagogues. The far-right has been successfully attacking universities in red states and is now using antisemitism (any criticism of Israeli policies and solidarity with Palestinians) to crack down on academic freedom in blue states. They care very little about real #antisemitism.
The video clip of Eric Trump’s interview on Fox News is shocking. He says, George Soros is funding far-left prosecutors and judges around the world US to take down his father This is a well known far-right antisemitic rhetoric. Where are the GOP and Democratic politicians who are so concerned with the rise of #antisemitism that they want to constrain free speech academci freedom?
Woman pleads guilty to conspiring with neo-Nazi leader to attack energy grid
A Maryland woman admitted to scheming with a neo-Nazi leader from Florida to destroy electrical substations surrounding Baltimore in an attack that she told a confidential FBI source would be “legendary” and “probably permanently completely lay this city to waste.”
Learn why this concerning trend isn’t just a matter of concern to the Jewish community, but a direct threat to democracy and national security. Gain insights into how the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. government in general, are addressing Jew-hatred around the world and why a comprehensive, whole-of-society approach is more critical now than ever before.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be informed, engaged, and empowered to counter antisemitism.
“…For students and faculty exercising their right to academic freedom including the freedom to protest? Or for those who require a militarized system of surveillance and policing in order to feel “comfortable” in maintaining a status quo that has continued for far too long?”

Terrific and important op-ed. Campus protest crackdowns claim to be about antisemitism – but they’re part of a rightwing plan | Arielle Angel | The Guardian
Hey Nina, isn't it also just a little bit problematic when Jewish college students are harassed, and threatened, and subjected to calls for them to be deported or exterminated?
No? Not a problem? The whole thing is 100% just a big right-wing conspiracy? Okay.
