Trump lies with every breath. His Big Lie, that he won the 2020 election, incited a bloody coup attempt, and turned the entire Republican Party into a revolutionary terrorist group that is trying to overthrow our government. Because of Trump's lies, we will all spend the rest of our lives in the midst of a civil war.

Also, occasionally, Biden misremembers facts.

This garbage from the Los Angeles Times is despicable fascist disguised as .

Glad to see that Saudi Arabia scrambled their jets to help defend U.S. interests in the region and the strong statement made by Jordan. Hopefully Netanyahu doesn't try to escalate off of this response from their escalation in an attempt to create a more kinetic regional conflict, but no telling with that asshole.

I'm posting this screenshot of Steve Herman's post, because the article itself is in Hebrew.

As soon as Israel holds elections, Netanyahu will be voted out of office, and I think he'll go to prison. He needs a big war, to stop the demonstrations and prevent elections. I think that's why he attacked Iran's consulate in Damascus in the first place, no? He was deliberately attempting to incite a major war. Escalation is his only move.

barney,
@barney@mas.to avatar

@GreenFire

Unfortunately, I think most of America's intelligence and national security communities are no longer loyal to the United States. That's certainly true of virtually all of the FBI; they're loyal to the Republican Party now, and would gladly go to war against the United States on the GOP's behalf.

In retrospect, once we allowed Putin to conquer the White House, and then imposed zero consequences on his co-conspirators, there was never going to be an easy path back to sovereignty.

is about to attack , starting a massive war between two major military powers.

This is happening only because , , , , and are all closely allied with each other, and they're all desperate to get Trump reelected. And it's going to work -- our incompetent media will push the lie that "this war is Biden's fault."

We must find some way to break this chain of events, or we will lose our democracy forever.

Jesus motherfucking Christ. There's a bill to help Ukraine defend itself against a totally unprovoked genocidal Russian invasion. One whose goal is to end Ukraine's existence, and end Ukrainian grain exports, thereby starving tens of millions of people. What the hell kind of bill do you think is going to pass, with the Republicans controlling the House?

This graphic is disgusting. It's dishonest bullshit. "Forcing a vote" is not something Nancy Pelosi can do.

Pelosi called for a halt on weapons shipments, and an independent investigation of IDF's attack on the World Central Kitchen convoy.

The Republicans' positions are "there are very few innocent Palestinian civilians... we should kill them all... you gotta finish the problem... like Hiroshima and Nagasaki."

But PELOSI is the one you want to harass? Seriously?

This is what Putin is working on in Ukraine: Annihilation of a whole country, and deliberate starvation of tens of millions of people.

Because of garbage like what you posted, Putin now controls the House of Representatives. This means Congress' options for preventing a wave of murderous fascism from sweeping across Europe are limited.

The people you should he harassing are not the ones who are applying US leverage AGAINST Israeli fascists.

Barring some last-minute development, Iran is going to attack . The response and risk of escalation will depend.

As reported by multiple msm.

The Iraian Mullahs supply several terrorist groups: hamas, Hezbollah, IS, Houthis that rampage and terrorize the middle-east. IRGC terrorize Iranian citizens.

Other than early elections in Israel, I don't see how a major Israel-Iran war can be avoided now.

Putin needs Trump to win in November. Because the US has no functioning political press, Putin can easily swing the election to Trump, just by ordering his proxy state Iran to start a major war. He may have already achieved his objective, by organizing Hamas' terrorist attack last October.

Netanyahu is Putin's ally. He also needs ever-escalating wars to stay in power and avoid prison.

Then you're explicitly confirming the impression that you conveyed.

You're saying, you don't care whether millions of American women may die in agony from easily treated pregnancy complications. You don't care if US soldiers round up ten million Latinos and send them to concentration camps. You don't care if Black people are allowed to vote in the US. Or if mere existence as an person is outlawed.

If I understand Meta's announcement here, posts from outside of #Threads are not visible in Threads at all. Not yet, anyway. Currently, information can flow from Threads into the Fediverse, but not in the opposite direction.

The "our phased approach to the Fediverse" part of this indicates that Meta eventually plans to allow two-way communication between Threads and the Fediverse.

@atomicpoet @fediversenews

Thank you for explaining. I guess this was an ethical decision on my admin's part.

I should probably study others' arguments on the ethics of allowing Meta to federate, before I reach a firm conclusion on how I feel about it. I see that Threads' federation is currently one-way, and that seems sleazy to me.

barney,
@barney@mas.to avatar

@BeAware @atomicpoet @fediversenews

Well, I'm only beginning to dip my toe into the issues here, but... my admin spends a lot of their own time and money running my instance, and they don't even charge me for using it. I choose to make donations, but they don't require or even know that I do. So, from their perspective, my account is nothing but a burden for them.

That being the case, I don't think they really owe me a vote on how they handle Threads. Of course I'm free to migrate if I want.

Please don't post this nonsense. Donald Trump doesn't have a "plan to end war."

Trump is Putin's agent. Period. When Putin started this war on Ukraine, Trump praised Putin, and suggested that the US should similarly invade Mexico. Trump's own NatSec Advisor confirmed that Trump will withdraw the US from NATO. Trump himself said he'd encourage Putin to invade our NATO allies.

#ISIS is back in the news.

Remember: In 2019, Trump suddenly withdrew US forces from Syria. He betrayed America's Kurdish allies, who had lost 11,000 soldiers fighting against ISIS. He left our brothers in arms to be beheaded by Erdoğan's jihadists, and he left thousands of ISIS prisoners to escape. "Five years of work—undone."

Why did Trump do it? What did he get in return?

Nothing. He did it because he's Erdoğan's bitch, and Erdoğan told him to.

@elCelio @72mz

Trump surrendered US bases to Russia, simply because Putin told him to. Russia then made propaganda videos, gloating over the personal items that our troops were forced to leave behind.

Trump "fell in love" with North Korea's dictator. Trump gave up US intel sources all over the world, and many of them were then killed. He let Erdoğan's thugs beat up Americans, in broad daylight, in the middle of DC.

It is hard to imagine a weaker leader than Trump.
