Video game consoles requiring Internet connection for a disc drive to be usable has to be THE most Anti-Consumer piece of garbage tech anyone has ever come up with.
Like what does this even benefit? who's benefiting from a disc drive that needs the Internet to be accessible before it can be usable? This is just Ewaste design written all over it, because when it can no longer contact the servers to activate, you're left with a paperweight that's completely useless.
All of my friends owned a PS1 but I went for the N64 because I wanted to play Mario Kart 64 and nothing else. 😆
I played many PS1 games on my friend's consoles. That way I experienced the birth of fundamental game series like Tekken, Gran Turismo, Silent Hill, Resident Evil or GTA. :underheart:

A while ago I played Horizon Forbidden West. I still have a long way to go, but been distracted by No Man's Sky and Elder Scrolls Online.

Linda³ Again , a Japan only role-playing game for the PSX has finally been translated into English. This is a Shoji Masuda game , if you're into obscure RPGs from Japan you may have played one of his titles , some of the more well known ones are Hero must die and the first 2 Tengai Makyou games.
This is his attempt at making a psycho thriller Noah's Ark RPG with 3 different scenarios , each with its own unique timeline.

Played some more #Fallout76 yesterday and got to level 14. It's going slowly but I'm enjoying it.

Sony lays off people, and I'm not surprised. "Spider-Man 2" budget was 315 million dollars, and it wasn't a big leap from its predecessor.
AAA games have become unsustainable. I don't want to wait 20 years for the next Elder Scrolls only for it to eat a massive budget, forcing the developers to monetize it as much as possible.
I hope that these layoffs spark a new gen of game devs who are fed up with MBAs managing game studios and are to return to the roots.
