My first blog post. It's about Welcome House - a comedic gag adventure game for the original PlayStation developed by Gust. https://wherethefishsleep5.wordpress.com/2024/02/16/welcome-house-or-games-can-be-sitcoms-too/

Linda³ Again , a Japan only role-playing game for the PSX has finally been translated into English. This is a Shoji Masuda game , if you're into obscure RPGs from Japan you may have played one of his titles , some of the more well known ones are Hero must die and the first 2 Tengai Makyou games.

This is his attempt at making a psycho thriller Noah's Ark RPG with 3 different scenarios , each with its own unique timeline.

A senior colleague of mine asked me to transfer some books over to her Kindle e-reader. Using Calibre , I transferred the books over to the Kindle and they showed up , she even read a few pages of one at work. Now at her home , the books all disappeared from the Kindle , my guess is it probably had something to do with reconnecting to the internet. Now at her house , she is trying to transfer books using Calibre but they won't show up.

Anyone got an idea? #books #kindle #bookstodon

Interesting to learn that Yuzo Koshiro (composer of Streets of Rage , Ys and many Falcom titles , Etrian Odyssey and various other games) was actually a student of Joe Hisaishi of Studio Ghibli fame.

Playing Cave's early PS2 racing game Touge 3 , funnily released as Road Rage 3 in the west when the 2nd never left Japan & the 1st was called High Velocity.
It passes the vibe check with a smooth soundtrack and fun physics that lean somewhat towards sim but keep most of that arcade feel. The controls are good & you can calibrate almost everything you want. You can even adjust the front and rear spring rates to get the kind of control you want.

Who's got SHORT homebrew, romhack, underrated, or translated games I can play on my Pocket?

That's technically anything below a PS1 with an FGPA core, more or less, though GB fits the aesthetic more.

Got it set up on it's dock finally, it's cool but WOOF be careful with your dock you WILL scratch the bottom if it's unprotected and you just push it in.

Try For Frog The Bell Tolls , an action rpg developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. It should only take 8-10h to beat and it is quite the fun little adventure , very on the funny side. The fan translation is splendid.

Today I discovered that Nintendo's port of SimCity for the SNES got a Japan only sequel for the N64 DD , made by none other than the famous HAL.

It seems to be ahead of its time with features that would be seen in later entries like the ability to view the city at night , pedestrian level free-roaming & individual vehicles & pedestrians in free roam mode. Cities are presented in 3D hybrid graphics. As Simcopter 64 got cancelled they integrated it here instead.

Anyone else keep listening to collections of songs from anime you watched years or even decades ago?

It's been 15 years now, but I still listen to Toradora's ED2 (Orange) from time to time haha

If anything, I feel like I need to update it since that playlist hasn't changed since like 2015...

I listen to my old favorites occasionally when I can't pick what to listen to , they are like comfort food.

Games beaten 2023, # 31 Tekken 3 (PS1)

Simply fantastic. Slightly baffles me that this is a PS1 title; it's miles ahead of either of its prequels in every conceivable respect. Exceptional fighting game, and definitely a great last entry before the jump to the next gen

The graphics still wow me , Tekken 3 is so incredible. Back when Tekken CG endings used to be fun.
