In Saskatchewan, Canada, the provincial gov't actually penalizes EVs with a $150 extra fee. Symbolic. These rightwingers don't actually believe Sask should really do anything positive about much of anything.

The only thing car drivers hate worse than cyclists who don't stop at stop signs is cyclists who do stop a stop signs.

Someone gets killed on a bicycle a year ago in an intersection known to be dangerous, 10 yr old study, and they study it again and city admin recommend no change "at this time". The person killed had her kids with her (survived). I'm going to city council to talk about it on behalf of Saskatoon Cycles tomorrow, and I don't know if I should cry or shout or ??? in the 5 mins allocated. What's the life of one person in the life of a city?

Russia will lose. Just like it did in Afghanistan. Which caused its regime to crumble.

There is no other acceptable outcome. And it's inevitable.

They measured the effects of a walk in nature on cognitive functioning. Yes there's a positive effect.

"Taking time to simply look at clouds, trees, rivers or vast landscapes involves no decision-making and appears to allow the brain to relax, recover, and function more effectively afterwards."

The police are, essentially, an organized crime ring that has been endorsed by the state to operate within its borders.

The police have been killing people in Mississippi and burying them in anonymous graves behind a jail.

This is what people's tax money buys: government endorsed, criminal violence.

No. Not so.
True story, one of about 750 I know from assessing for parole.
They caught this attempted murderer who'd been escalating from brutal rapes and would have murdered next time.

"We exist as long as we oppress others" - a Russian person explains how Russia works.

According to him, Russia's entire history consists of three recurring phases - preparation for war, war and reconstruction after the war. The empire cannot allow anyone to live better, so every country with a higher standard of living is an enemy.

The fossil fuel industry cannot claim it didn't know abt climate change - they commissioned the paper.

The 1968 "paper explained that the world’s use of fossil fuels was releasing carbon that had been buried for millennia, and “it is likely that noticeable increases in temperature could occur..That would mean warming oceans, melting ice caps, and sea levels that could rise by as much as four feet per decade, the report predicted"

For anyone unaware, Google Chrome is currently rolling out an update that track your interests based on browsing history, then share them with 3rd party websites. The notification page makes it sound like they added a new privacy feature, but in actuality they automatically enrolled you into their tracking system and you have to go and manually opt out.

I have Tor, but it isn't suitable for all things. Neither is FF Klar/Focus and IceCat. I found that Chrome was required for boarding passes for Westjet. It is in Insular (FOSS version of Island- isolated from all apps). So we make do with imperfect combinations. I also recommend Blokada from F-droid. No ads on android and blocked ~200k trackers in a year.
