But I honestly think the drumbeat of these headlines is as much a PR campaign as anything. If I were OpenAI, I would nurture (or plant) as many of these stories as possible. Just relentless messaging about the potency and inevitability of their product. No ad they buy could do this.

Any organization to donate [edit: that is give to a place that has use for them] old glasses to in the Netherlands that is either close to Leiden or accepts a parcel?

I have two old pair of glasses that are in good condition, but both my style and my eyesight changed too much for me to ever use them again. I tried googling - in Dutch! - but mainly find Belgium (I could also bring them to Pearle in Belgium, but it would be easier to do so in NL) :(

If you follow me and you don't speak German, you can easily remove my German posts from your timeline by adjusting the language settings.

Go to my profile page, select the dot menu and click "Change subscribed languages". Then select the languages that you speak.

This really is a hidden gem 💎 on Mastodon and not many people seem to know this feature :awesome:

I've been watching the image releases and feel like they have a few issues with color balance and clipped histograms. After some investigating I still think that's true. At the same time ESA will make 5 new ERO images public and the underlying science images. This programme was observed before the start of Euclid's main survey.
