Gamedevs are like "I don't want to use C/C++ because my game would crash all the time!" meanwhile their Unity EDITOR is crashing from all the C# even before they made a build, LOL.

Does anyone know their way around rigging Mixamo animations on Synty characters? It worked last time, but now the two thumbs seem to be mapped to the same joints.

In the Import Messages for the rig, I get:

Invalid Avatar Rig Configuration. Missing or invalid transform:
Found duplicate transform 'Thumb_01' for human bone "Right Thumb Proximal' and 'Left Thumb Proximal'

If I edit the configuration, either Apply is grayed out or, when I click on it, the configuration reverts to the broken version.

I get this message in the Unity editor console:
EndLayoutGroup: BeginLayoutGroup must be called first.
UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent (int,intptr,bool&) (at /home/bokken/build/output/unity/unity/Modules/IMGUI/GUIUtility.cs:190)

That "bokken" is usually a hint that it's a bug in Unity that can be fixed by closing and re-opening the editor, but that didn't work here.

It looks like I'm not the only one to have had this problem.

The Janelia Toolkit now supports panoramas, back-projected onto a cylindrical screen, updated in real time for a tracked viewpoint within the cylinder. The intended application is for studies of animals like . Also, why does this even affect the scroll speed in the first place

Input System (Unity vs Unreal) 📌

Enhanced Input in Unreal Engine 5 is great. I like the Input System in Unity better than Input in Unreal 4. But Enhanced Input better than Input System in Unity. I didn't dig very deep, but what I can do in UE5 is store the Input Action separately to use it later in different Contexts and that cool!

It's all new for me, studying Unreal Engine I try to compare it with Unity

In Unity you create a shader first, then create a material from it. In Unreal you create a Material... this is the first thing that seemed strange to me as a developer on Unity.

The first thing I thought was that the concept in Unity should run faster because I'm creating a shader. To answer this question for myself, I need to find a pipeline illustration of how it works in both engines

I continue to study Unreal Engine and again I want to point a finger at the Unity and say that this is how it should be done -> Reference Viewer in Unreal it's an incredible tool that shows the depth of how and where an asset is used in a project

Iterating on the chart is super easy, too!

I'm using Outfox to author the #stepmania charts ⬅️⬇️⬆️➡️, and a #unity ScriptedImporter to directly load the charts into the game.

Unity: I got issue with the engine. Mentioned about it in the forums and I got comment that my issue will be looked at.

Monogame: There was a bug in the framework. I wrote a hacky work around to fix the issue myself.

Yayeeeh! 😁 Thank god. #LEGOStudio finally works again on #Mac​s with #macOS #Sonoma (14.2 or newer)! It took #Unity quite some time to figure this one out. Some changes are unfortunately breaking changes.

Unfortunately, #LEGOPartDesigner does not work yet. But I’m positive now that they figured this one out for #LEGO Studio, the Part Designer will follow soon.
