We organize invisible labor because if we dont, it falls to the most marginalized in a group in sometimes unpredictable ways: fail to maintain lab infra? Thats your undergrads and grad students doubling their labor time working around broken systems.

UC warned 's lawyers that they are planning to file a motion for injunctive relief against our strike, claiming that we are striking for political reasons rather than the causes outlined in our ULPs. They are apparently scouring social media looking for messaging to that effect. That might explain why some members public comments might seem carefully parsed in the near future.

Diversity of tactics means that the tactics are diverse - have to be able to code switch and know when each tactic is able to do what and how they can be deployed. There are a lot of subtle distinctions here, between Union leadership and rank and file, the many shades of why our members are going on strike, our capacity as activists vs Union members, etc.

UC wants to collapse all these down to a point - that any "political messaging" means that our entire strike is invalid. From the left we always need to mind the same trap, purity policing and making enemies of allies for mildly divergent tactics and goals has never been good strategy.
