Just saw a video about this, there was almost an iomega Zip drive from Dreamcast. It was shown at some trade shows and they said it was intended for dlc for games like Phantasy Star Online and Quake III Arena, but was obviously cancelled. #Sega#RetroGaming
Did you know - before the GBA could connect to the GameCube, with the right cable you could connect your Dreamcast to a NeoGeo Pocket Color?
You can unlock characters, art, share your high scores, etc.
It's super cool!!
...looks like I need more space on my VMUs though! 😅
US patent office and #Sony can both go fuck themselves. This dangerous precedent set by #Nintendo and #Sega is only continuing on a worse and worse path.
Make no mistake - this is a CONSCIOUS ATTACK on #indiedev and smaller #gamedev to completely push them out of the market.
Wooohooo... Finally you can use the Rust on the Dreamcast! I just read this message on the development Discord channel:
From darcagent (@darcag3nt on X)
"Rust? On my#Sega#Dreamcast? It's more likely than you think! I just put out a tutorial and supporting repo for creating Rust projects in Cargo targetting Dreamcast + #KallistiOS using rustc_codegen_gcc! Here's an example cube calling GLdc from #Rust!"
I have never been into Beat 'em ups but have some of the classics like Streets of Rage 2 in my collection. 🥊
Are there any titles you suggest trying out although I am not the biggest fan of the genre? 🤔
I have fond memories of the Sega Master System, my very first console. The theme from Phantasy Star by Tokuhiko Uwabo is one of this era's of Sega soundtracks that stands out, enjoy:
Ended up that my childhood #SegaGenesis could not be saved, so it had to get a new board. Wound up with a VA6, which I'm happy with—has TMSS sure, but it's also one of the best options for video/audio quality.
After a long life of providing my joy, the original board will now live on up on my wall.
I installed an Analogue Mega SG (an FPGA-based aftermarket Sega Genesis/Mega Drive) at work. Mainly to show the younger colleagues what they missed in the 90s. 😁
Now I am looking for nice games playable at lunch break. Meaning: Not to complicated, fast startup, maybe games for two.
For some time now I was thinking about presenting #RetroTrivia not only via pictures but short video clips that don't exceed the Mastodon server's file size limit. 🗄️
Finally I arranged to capture, edit and publish my first video directly here on Mastodon. 📼
When you've got 40 seconds and want to know what going too fast in Sonic can lead to, give the video a try and me some feedback. 👌
🎮🕹️ We have a rich collection of video games for many classic systems: 405 for NES, 92 for SNES, 115 for Game Boy, 47 for Nintendo 64, 232 for Atari, 121 for Sega, and 500 more. 😀😀
Normally, this is where I go with a Sonic game. Not today.
Let's travel back to the early 90s when I had borrowed a copy of Bart vs the Space Mutants from a friend. That is the #TheSimpsons NES / Master System game where Bart is battling aliens that have invaded Springfield. It's...dumb, but I can't forget some of these tunes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLjxJ48UBgY
thread of my #arcadeexploration posts, starting with my latest:
exploring the arcade in the 1978 movie 鬼畜 / Kichiku (The Demon)
each blog entry features an arcade in a movie (mostly from #japan) and tries to identify all of the machines.
This is an exceptionally difficult task because:
AEW DYNAMITE Discussion Thread 11/15/23
It's Wednesday you know what that means!...
