Scientists from around the world are becoming increasingly alarmed by mass coral bleaching events caused by record-breaking ocean water temperatures. Water found to be as warm as a hot tub off the coast of Florida last year has moved to the southern hemisphere, infecting the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, as well as coral in coastlines in Brazil, Tanzania and the Red Sea. The BBC has more on the threat to marine life.
In entirely unsurprising news, deep sea mining basically kills at least half the life in the mined area, and also in the surroundings.
We're going to keep doing this because our ever increasing energy demand needs to be decarbonised, and at the moment we need cobalt and other metals for that.
A clear case of fixing one planetary boundary impacting another one. This is #ecocide.
It's almost here!
Those weeks in between
The dog days of Summer
And the Snowbird migration
The temperature drops
The sun shines so brightly
Traffic is still manageable
It's.............BEACH TIME!!!!
Just shipped these babies to the Clay Center of New Orleans. I'm super excited to be one of the artists chosen by juror Courtney Mattison to showcase my work in the "Ripple Effect" exhibit opening April 19th.
The two pieces I will be showing are sculpted out of white stoneware clay and glazed a lovely bronze color that changes depending on the lighting.
