Not content to only improve various shortcomings of the Saturn version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Meduza Team updated their patch to include English text and voices! Read about it in my story:
Pseudo Saturn Kai, the software used to play backup discs on real Saturn hardware, just got a massive update — including a version that runs on the Satiator ODE! Get all the details in my SHIRO! colleague PandaMonium's story:
#TIL, and i wonder why i didn’t know this before. #Jupiter and #Saturn aren’t really made up of gases, technically speaking. Almost all of it is supercritical fluid. The critical point for Hydrogen ist just 32.938 K, 1.2858 MPa, that for Helium much lower.
Otoh, supercritical fluid planet hasn’t quite the ring as gas giant.
Bought a couple of crappy usb #snes controllers from #aliexpress. Replacing a broken and greasy fake usb #saturn controller for an #emulation PC in a restaurant. I can't be the only one wondering what's inside these things, so here is a pic.
Only edited a bit the contrast/luminosity. Taken with Pixel 4A and Celestron 130 SLT. I know that people usually take such photos from lots of frames and they stack them together with specialized software, plus do a lot of editing after. Yeah their results are many times better, but for one right now I do not feel like spending hours to edit/create such a photo, and second when is the editing too fake? Too much? If you use special programs to reconstruct pixels on a low quality photo....then is almost like adding bits that are not even there....idk...
At least this sort of photo is one that I enjoy taking by looking at Saturn through my phone's camera live, and taking a brief photo. Then edited it for less than a minute.

I love conjunctions and this one was one of my favorites. Planned months in advance and when clouds were predicted in my area, I drove west for about 3 hours to try and get away from the clouds but had little luck. I was only able to get 2 quick pics between clouds. No time to focus or anything. Jupiter and Saturn in 2020. #astrophotography#astronomy#space#saturn#jupiter
#Saturn shows off its rings in this October 2023 image from #Hubble, when the ringed planet was approximately 850 million miles (1.3 billion kilometers) from Earth. Hubble’s vision is so sharp that it resolves ring spokes spinning around the giant world: https://bit.ly/3ROeu7q
A new astronomy cover for the Science Advances Journal, starring Enceladus, the icy moon of Saturn.
Feature article by Wanying Kang (MIT Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Science Department) on the ocean stress on icy moon ice shells, and its impact on the habitability of these satellites.
