Rainbows Over the Athabasca River - Jasper National Park
It was on this walk that I believe the most inspired photography at the day occurred. It was partly because of the incredibly gorgeous scene and secondarily it was because of the great light.
Weeks ago, I was invited to attend a reception in Ottawa for Premier Danielle Smith, which took place Monday evening. I had originally RSVP’d yes. Instead, last night I made a decision to stand in solidarity with the trans rights protesters outside the event. As a representative of Albertans and Edmontonians, that’s where I felt I should be. #Ottawa#yow#Edmonton#Alberta#TransRightsAreHumanRights#cdnpoli
"An Alberta government report that influenced safe drug consumption policy is so badly flawed it's harming people and should be withdrawn, says a new study in a prominent medical journal.
The paper, published Monday in the Canadian Journal of Public Health, calls the government's 2019 report into seven supervised consumption sites 'pseudo-science.'"
Statement from the Alberta Medical Association Section of Pediatrics on gender-affirming treatments in Alberta
“…This is a medical decision and no one should be involved except the child, their parents if the child is not a mature minor, the physician (pediatrician or family/rural physician) and other health care team members. The doctor-patient relationship is inviolable and sacrosanct. Full stop.”
Globe & Mail reports that Conservative leader Pierre #Poilievre is muzzling his MPs.
They have been instructed NOT to comment on #Alberta Premier Danielle Smith's transgender policy. Conservatives claim Mr. Poilievre himself is “very disciplined” and is “not going to wade into these issues.”
Don't be fooled - Pierre Poilievre fully supports the Premier. He's just not going to tell you that before the election.
Breaking news from the Senate. After all kinds of stalling tactic from the Conservatives, we just passed Bill C-57, the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement, 73-14. All four AB Senators, Scott Tannas, @SenKarenAb and @MSPLB voted in favour of the deal. (All Conservative senators voted against.) This deal isn't a magic solution to Ukraine's military woe, but will be an important tool in rebuilding the nation's economy. #SenateofCanada#Canada#Ukraine#BillC57#C57#cdnpoli#Alberta#FreeTrade
