Hey, I'm Tom. I love technology and all things open source.

I have a bunch of :raspberrypi:'s running my home lab, keeping my personal life off the internet. Still a way to go before I'm completely offline, a major issue being Google Home.

I run :debian: with :xfce: and my gaming computer does too! I also have a Fairphone4 which runs :lineageos2: with MindTheGapps.

Switched my personal site to use #cheerlights for the main background colour.... I liked the pink, but this green is odd.

Finally moved nerdfonts locally on my village's website. Found the cause for them not to render being the -v flag in cat in my compile script.

Next I should probably split the icons out of my main font, not sure why I just spent so much time merging it into inter.

Snagged another Pi 4 from eBay for just ยฃ30 yesterday! Going to upgrade my garden camera. Will be able to push the stream/videos to full resolution on the Pi cam module 3.

The twitter block issue is caused by Firfox filters. Firefox is working on a fix. The announcement reads as: Hey folks, we are aware of the Twitter issue and our team is working on a fix at the moment.

In the meantime, disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection or changing it from Strict should fix this issue temporarily. Here's how to do that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop#w_what-to-do-if-a-site-seems-broken

@cheeaun There's something with the current #xfce hashtag feed that crashes phanpy dev.

It looks like I might be a bit of a #GTK fan boy. Looking at my #linux devices that run a DE, all of them are GTK based (#Gnome, #Cinnamon, and #XFCE).

@amin, have you gotten scli to work in #Debian?

I gave up because pipx refuses to install urwid, and I think Debian's version is drumroll way too old. ;)
I wish pipx just had scli. There's an scli package in PyPI, but it's literally an empty placeholder for nothing.
Infuriating.

Argh! I can feel my body today. Seems like the anaesthetic is gone. I can feel where I bit my lip at some point during or just after the surgery, and the bum bandage feels awful. My hand hurts where the drip was inserted (after they messed up the first time).

Got to remove the bandage later today, quite worried about what I'll find or not find. My body is absolutely exhausted, but my brain is wide awake. Relaxing feels bad.

I want to go back to when I was super relaxed.

@cymplecy Saved me from a few kernel panics. Also, great for reinstalling. Be sure to move the backups off your system now and again. Also place ignores before backup locations in the settings.

This is how I keep things backed up, should all work on mint if you're using LMDE https://gitlab.com/tripplehelix/debianscripts/-/blob/main/backup?ref_type=heads The checksum test can take quite a while.
