Too bad they won't admit how overwhelmingly right wing the policies of this country are. Europe is a good standard of what constitutes freedom.

I may not like some of the things people do in Europe...
Such as a specific horned anti-religious group being born there. However, they at least aren't using the government to make peoples' lives miserable.

@GottaLaff The closer the planet gets to destruction, I think the more people will lose their marbles and start acting more stupid. I don't even think that people have to be aware of climate change or its existence for this to take place. I just have this feeling that its a world problem created by climate change.

I still wonder why people question surveillance's threat capabilities. If Hitler had the capabilities of the NSA... God help this world...

It would have taken much longer to win!

@GottaLaff I will admit, I have been guilty of taking him lightly, but I have never trusted him. Sometimes his buffoon behaviour blinds people I think to how dangerous he really is.

I don't think hating him is needed, he is as real as a mannequin when it comes to reality. Some of his followers to me, are much worse, in my opinion, because they aren't as blind as they want us to think. They are afraid to admit they are wrong and that to me is much worse. Such ugly pride is infuriating to me.

@GottaLaff By what I said below, I mean he might as well be made of plastic, his entire life is a lie and neither him nor his followers will admit that unless they are willing to ditch him and acknowledge reality. This is similar for some trump supporters who call themselves Christians I am sure too.

One even said on tv they would trust trump over Jesus. If that isn't a sign of impending doom and being a liar, I don't know what is.

@mntmn Blockchain, crypto currency rather, ironically is more climate unfriendly than all the data centers used by the big corporations combined. The hardware required is put through intense load and then dies within a few years and then becomes part of the tech graveyard. So yeah, it would be nice if people would spend the money on helping people instead of pointless wars, or crypto currency or greed, etc...

for my own pocket reform i'm looking for a lightweight email client that is usable for not-super-computer-pros like me and that lets me interact with IMAP directly, i.e. does not need to download my 50000 emails first. aerc does this last part very well, but i do not understand how to use it, and it doesn't seem to accept mouse clicks etc. and doesn't seem to just display HTML emails (which most people outside the terminal-centric computer bubble send nowadays).

as requested by @esther: does MNT Pocket Reform work without batteries, from USB-C supply/powerbank? yes.

my POV holding a running pocket reform and flipping it over so you can see there are no batteries in the bottom. when i pull the USB-C plug, it immediately turns off.

@GottaLaff would be nice if all data collectors would be banned from making money off of our information. I would love it if, microsoft, apple, google, facebook, twitter and their data centers, to be terminated forever and similar groups who sell other people's information and/or collect it. This has never stopped terrorism, ciphersaber.com has the answer.

Besides, bad guys can reverse engineer the bad stuff out with minimal energy. This is just to watch innocent citizens who dissent and greed.

5x Pocket Reform release candidate 2 motherboard PCBs ordered. will arrive ~dec 3rd.

now i just have to decide if i want to change anything on the keyboard PCB or no. the only thing that comes to mind is a power switch IC for the 5V rail to the SK6805 leds, to optimize the case of running with backlight completely off. not sure if worthwhile

@GottaLaff GMOs cause health issues? And to think people refuse to pressure the corporations to state whether gmos are in food or not. Or better yet, make selling it illegal so they cannot make money off of it anymore than say, illicit drugs like crack, similiar or worse.

@GottaLaff Tucker actually advertised red light therapy as a cure for that. I don't know which is crazier, that, or him wanting to be sexually aroused by a green m&m and being angry when the creators of m&ms change their green one just slightly in a way that makes almost no difference, saying that he wouldn't want to have a drink with one. He actually did this once and it was hysterical and what I would expect from an snl version of him.
Glad he was fired, we have enough of a circus without him.

@GottaLaff I wonder how much eric trump knew, given he was always mocked on late night shows as being dumb. Its possible he stayed away from those evil dealings because they thought he was stupid, or he might have decided he didn't know enough to help with it.
If its the latter, he is actually smarter than his siblings. I hope that is true, because that would be amusing but also would say he's at least less of problem than those around him.

I consider him a moderate republican myself. My belief is the left wing is almost non-existent as far as the power structure goes. Still, I don't think Biden is a white nationalist, fascist or mass murderer. Its also ironic that someone who supports trump has the nerve to dis Joe Biden given the abomination that trump is.

@GottaLaff In some ways, I think some of trumps followers are more evil even then trump. Trump has always been this way it seems. But his followers, I don't know their life stories. Trump doesn't surprise me too much in a hateful way, he just feels like he was never a real person, even when I hear him speak and say a lot of verbal word salad. I guess I consider him to be a fake and a lie. I am willing to bet the conservatives do see who he is, but they don't want to admit they are wrong... :(

They would rather believe convenient lies that stokes their egos to a boastful level just to feel better. Ironic, given some of them claim they are believers of christ. I seem to recall pride being a huge barrier to being loving and good.

I wish republicans would stop repeating the stupid lie about democrats being radical. The country keeps having people in power who keep moving further to the right and not the other way around. If europeans see this post, consider yourselves blessed that you don't have a broken government that heavily feeds corporations without any repercussions. I recall some european countries actually do something about this. Nothing perfect, but that's not possible anyhow.
