Loud nose blowing is disgusting. My father-in-law sounded like a flock of geese sometimes, even when people were eating. I think it is rude and inconsiderate. To top it off he used a cloth hankerchief he would then fold up and put back in his pocket. AUGGGGGHHHH!!!!.
If you gotta do that, excuse yourself, go to a restroom, close the door. Maybe cut a loud fart to cover up the sound. At least that is probably just gas, not snot.

Could the Dems do what mtg tried to do? If i understand correctly, they woild need just one repub to give him the boot. Of course that would lead to another chaotic period with nothing getting done, but no shutdown looming and Ukraine aid passed, and what other way is there to kick him in the slats?

I think priosecution did a good job of painting a "that was then; this is now" picture. We/they can still feel he is a slimy character for having done those things and told those lies, but believe what he says now, which is largely substantiated by testimony and documents. To disbelieve him now is to buy into the entire "witch hunt; all made up" line, which is clearly rubbish.
But I was on a hung jury because of one juror who believed such bs defense. Not counting chickens

Regarding the whole bear meme that's going around the internet, I'll say this much: I've been backpacking all around the world solo, and have gone on extensive trips in the wilderness where bears exist, including the entire Appalachain Trail and Olympic National Park amd Olympic National Forest. I've encountered plenty of bears and plenty of men while alone at night, and the bears were always, always less threatening to me. Not because men are powerful or anything like that, of course, but because of their behaviour and potential motives.

The men who are protesting need to learn to shut up and listen.

Yep. My wife and daughter have educated me over the years to their reality. But it is still difficult to just keep quiet when my daughter says all men... my immediate impulse is to say ' are you saying you think I would..."
I stop myself because she is explaining the world she lives in and yes, if she did not know me she would understandably be as wary of me as of any other. Nothing about my appearance or demeanor of the moment says I would be an exception.

As he got close he moved to the curb and dropped his gaze, looking down and toward the street. I asked myself how I could have not so threatened him. The only possible answer was "Be Black." It was not about me personally, & I was saddened that that was the life he lived. My being male is the same thing for women.

My daughter in Tucson is taking a welding class. Not plumbing or construction welding; welding art pieces, typically from scrap metal. This is her second project. Second. As in, " she has only done one other project."

Yesterday I pointed out that the fertility rate dropping is a good thing, because the biggest drop has been the disappearance of teen pregnancies.👍🏿

I also said that the right way to increase the birth rate, is to build a society where girls who grow into women, choose to have babies when they are women and understand the world and the implications more.

But many of those women, choose not to have kids. Why not?

This is easy to know. Because women tell us.

In addition, the pearl clutching over "replacement" illogically suggests banning abortion will help prevent that. It is not their precious soccer moms they are forcing to give birth, other than those with health reasons. It mostly is low or no income young women/girls who did not want to be pregnant & were forced or uninformed, a high percentage of whom are the very "replacement" folks they fear. Tuberville ranting "we need more babies" is really saying "slaves."

This is not a software glitch, it's the Y1C problem: old mainframes were so storage-constrained that they only allocated two decimal digits for passenger age, and adding another digit would mean rewriting software that in some cases has been in use and constantly patched since the late 1950s.

Drivers using Tesla autopilot are f-ing idiots. Self driving cars are f-ing nonsense. Maybe in controlled "tracks" like a dedicated expressway lane where the autopilot just stays in lane, follows speed limit, maintains following distance. Cut sleepy driver, highway hypnosis syndrome. That's a plus. Mixing it in chaotic traffic needs a whoooole lot more testing NOT with gen pop who did not sign up to be guinea pigs

But at the end of the day if you can say to yourself "I did what I could" that is what matters. I wish I could help every child in Gaza, Syria, Burma, S. Sudan, Afghanistan. I wish I could save all their lives & help their parents get jobs. I can't. But I CAN help some of the ones settled here as refugees. I can fix donated/discarded bicycles for them, help them get benefits, etc. Some kid who calls me Uncle or Grandpa may become a civil rights attorney!
